HID question

hey guys, i have a question concerning HID conversions. You know when it's dark out and you unlock your door with the remote, the headlights come on. well, if you have an aftermarket HID kit, what happens? I have read that the lights flicker, and I've read in some cases, they don't even come on until they're warmed up. I really like this feature, as I leave for work at the crack of dawn but I am considering HIDs. If the feature and the kit conflict, i'd just rather keep it stock. Thanks for the help!

when that happens sometimes it only sends enough juice through the line to ignite one of the bulbs and the other doesnt ignite. i belive this can be fixed with a relay built into the system. im sure you can disable it. it should be a reason NOT to get HIDs. they are one of the best mods you can do.

and you really dont need high beams. the low beams are damn bright

All you have to do is hit the lock button once with the fogs off. They dont flash then. But if you hit lock 2x and chirp it. The lights will come on.

They really need to be lit between 30s and 1 min to fully heat up.

Not hijacking thread.
I have an 02 f150 crew. I'm looking at getting hids. I was looking through the threads and alot of people say to get them from a seller named HID4U on ebay. Do I loose my hi beams? will I really need my high beams with hid's? How long does the bulb last?

Just my parking lights & tails flash when I arm & disarm my alarm; aftermarket Clifford. I'm no longer using the unlock remote that came with the truck. If I use that, then the heads flash.

I have an '02 Supercrew with HIDs, but I'm also running them through aftermarket heads that have a separate bulb for hi and lo beam.

Therefore I am essentially running through (2) separate hi-watt wiring harnesses. Because of such, I can operate my lo & hi beams independently, but the HIDs are still brighter than my hi beam.

HI beam only (super white halogens)

Lo beam (HIDs)

4300K is the absolute brightest (in terms of lumens) HID there is available. I'm going for 6000K because I like the blue. I wouldnt mind going for a 5000K if they made them

How's the response time for flashing? I heard since the HIDs take a few seconds to warm up, flashing them is 'bad' for them.
