Ford Emblem On A Carriage Works?

I just put a Carriage Works replacement grille on tonight, but the posts on the FORD EMBLEM are too short to reach through the grille. The directions don't help any .... how do I put the Ford Emblem on?

when i swapped grills the posts on the back of the emblem broke right off. it was -15C that day, so i guess that didn't help. anyway, there are 2 solid pieces of plastic where the posts meet the emblem. break the posts off, and drill a small pilot hole right in the center of each of the small plastic rectangles on the back of the emblem....making sure you don't drill right through the emblem. then you can use whatever size screw it takes to reach the emblem through the bracket on the back of the grill.

I had the same problem w/ mine. I got a drill and drilled a small hole in each of the stubs and ran a thick wire through one, wrapped it around itself, taped it off and put it on the griile. I then ran the wire behind that large vertical bar behind the grille and back around to the badge and slid it through the hole and wrapped the wire when I pulled it tight enough. I slides to the left and right just a tad, but it will take at least 20 lbs of force to rip if off the grille. I'll post pics later, I cant acces photobucket from my school computer.

I had the same problem. I used some aircraft hardware, some nuts that were about a half in deep with a flange on them. Worked great! The threads could reach down through the grille to the stubs.
