I got screwed by Craigslist!!!

So i just bought my 07 F150 stx 4x4 reg cab last week and i wanted to get right into adding my personal touch to it. Ive been scouring craigslist for a good deal on wheels or something for my new truck. Finally, i found a guy in San Antonio selling his "Ford F150 Westin Bull Bar". Anxiously i met him at the local target parking lot on my break at work and did the deal. I gave him 300.00, he gave me the Brand new "F150" Bull bar. Well, i started to look at it when i got back to work and actually got under my truck and saw where the Bullbar was supposed to go and noticed that there was no way it could fit. I went back into my building and researched the item at Westinautomotive.com and found the instruction application for the F150. The picture of the hardware and bolts and everything was different than what i had. I called the guy back and he said everything was right, he didnt want it because he had wanted the full chrome one not the black one that he had sold me. Anyway, i started clicking on the other applications and finnally got an exact match!!! He sold me a 08 F250, 350, 450 Bullbar!!!!! it will not fix my truck and as of right now he isnt answering my phone calls. Anyone here interested near San Antonio? 300.00 and its yours. Ive got pics too

Damn that sucks. Maybe it's a sign you should get a brush guard. I'm going up to SA next weekend for spring break.

No offense buddy but i think brush guards hide the truck too much. I think its sign for me to stop trusting people.

None taken, I was trying to do exactly that. Hide my chrome that is. Ebay has then cheaper than 300 take a look. I see you've reposted it CL.

Bum deal dude. Sounds like he's doing what you're doing. Someone probably sold him the guard, he discovered it was wrong and dumped it in your lap. Unfortunately, the beat goes on... - Og

That sucks. Any chance Westin would swap it out for an F150 one for you?

I bought a rear bumper for my truck after I was rear-ended. I was in the wrong because I didn't check. He sold me his rear bumber off a 2006. The 2004-2005 had a different bolt pattern, so it wouldn't work. I bought another bumber for less $ and sold the wrong bumper for the difference. I made my money back no prob. Just a little inconvenience...

BTW, I told the new buyer why it didn't work for me. We checked to make sure it would work on his truck before I took his $.

Update!! So i finally got ahold of the guy that sold it to me. Apperently he didnt know that it wouldnt fit my 07 F150 reg cab. All good though he met me at work, i gave him his bullbar, he gave me my 300 back. I will never buy of craigslist again unless im absolutely positive on what im getting.

I'm glad you were able to get your money back. Now go buy yourself one from ebay.
