Hey guys,
I bought 2 emblem overlays from www.patriotdecals.com for my 07 f150 (black gloss/chrome letters) and i managed to mess up both of them. I couldnt manage to get them without air bubbles and imperfections in them. For people who have installed overlays, need help with the technique yall used ot install them.

you wasted your money the 07 has raised letters i tryed 3 times they suck had them on my 04 they looked good

 

yeah, 05 and up has raised letters. I put one on my tailgate but you can see the letters at certain angles. will do for the time being though.

 

Yeah I tried'em on my 06 and they looked like crap. Ended up taking them off along with some of the blue on the oval and had to order a new front grille oval. Now I'm just thinking about going with custom badges instead.

 

if i remember correctly patriot decals has an ordering option for raised lettering vehicles.

This is my problem also, I have asked around and looks like hair dryer, windex, and lots of patients pays off.

This is my overlay, while it took some time to get it right I think it turned out okay, except for the one little crease.

 

i just installed a black one on the front of my fx2. ill post pics once i install on the back too. Front doesnt look bad at all even with the raised letters

 

Spray bottle with a couple drops of soap added, credit card to smooth out wrinkles, and a cool afternoon was all I needed. Be sure not to "oversaturate" your overlay though or the damn thing won't stay in place.

 

I agree a spray bottle with a little soap apply emblem. Get it where you want it. Use a credit card to take out a lot of bubbles and water then use a hair dryer to finish it off. It will all fall into place.

 

I bought some from patriotdecals and I must say it was frustrating as hell. Soapy water, hair dryer, proper temperature, yada yada. I tried it all. Nothing worked so I'm rockin' good ol' blue ovals till something better comes around. Good luck trying to get them on.
