Wire a switch to run in the cab? More help would be available if you posted in the electrical forums.

You want them to turn on when you put it in reverse right? If so then there is no need to run wires into the cab for a switch, let the reverse light be the relays trigger (but don't draw power from that, just use it as the trigger). If you have a trailer tow package you can get Positive, Negative, and the Reverse wire all out of that harness, just probe the 8 pin and you'll find them all. Worst case you run a fused power from the battery to the back to power it and you tap the black/pink strip (I think, can't remember) coming out of the reverse light. Ground it to the frame somewhere back there. I've done this on a couple of trucks and my best luck was keeping the relay wrapped tight in a baggie and stuffed behind one of the taillights where I made the reverse light tap. Current truck has it tapped from the trailer harness.

jerrys right, you just tap the relay to turn on when the reverse light comes on.

But from what im seeing, you only want them as auxilary back ups, in other words, you only want them to come on in reverse and when its dark.. correct?
The only way i can think of doing this easily, without too much wiring or imput from your part, is with two relays, but its late and my minds shutting down. i think there might be an easier solution than what im thinking.
