08 headlight assembly on an 04?

hey guys, I just bought an 04 fx4, and have noticed new f-150s headlights have a dark look to them. I think they would look really cool on my dark grey truck, but I'm not sure if it would be a direct bolt on?....seems like it should be. I figured I could find a set for a decent price on ebay at some point. Will they work?

thanks.

Yeap... they are the Harley Davidson edition headlights... black background instead of chrome.

You have a few choices here:

1.) Buy the Harley lights from a dealer (Very expensive.)

2.) Do it yourself (Back the headlights to soften adhesive and pry apart, then paint... can be a PITA but very cheap.)

3.) Purchase after market ones from E-bay, ect. (Taking a chance here... a lot of people report that after market ones leak after a few months.)

EDIT: Forgot to add, they will fit your truck... 04+.

hmmm. hard to decide now. maybe I'll pull the lights off and see just how much of a pain it'll be to crack them open. What type of adhesive should I use to seal them up again. Silicone?
I saw the aftermarket ones on ebay, but was worried about the quality. If you've heard complaints about them, I'll take yoour word for it and stay away from them.
I'd really like to find an oem set for cheap, but that probably is asking for too much.

I found these this afternoon. After spending many thousands to buy the truck yesterday, I think I should save up a few bucks before buying new headlights. hope they work out for you, cause it is a really good look.

Sometimes they will leak out of the box but no big deal sealing them.
