projector HID headlights?

I saw these on eBay... I thought you couldn't install HID's inside these projector housings. I thought I read somewhere that the HID bulbs are longer and they would be too close to the projector lens; too much heat basically. What do you think?

It'll be fine as long as the projector is glass and not plastic. However, that looks like a cheap kit. 250$ for headlights and HID? Not good.

really? I have those same headlight housings. I'll have to confirm, but I think the lens is glass. I might have to look into a HID kit now

As long as you're happy with em, cool.

As long as they are glass you should be ok. Apparently there's enough clearance for the bulbs themselves so that shouldn't be an issue.

Correct me if I'm wrong, somebody, but I've always heard, glass - plastic -

Edit : And I meant to say as long as the projector is glass.

That's what I have in mine. Just make sure to aim them after you're done. Mine are way to high.

Im pretty sure by "aiming them" they were refering to the actual headlight beam, not the bulb. When you install HIDs they scatter a huge amount of light, causing the oncoming traffic to see them as HI beams.
usually you want to aim the headlights down a bit to reduce the glare to oncomming traffic.

actually i find with the stock position on 97+ f150 they are perfect and don't scatter too much compared to other trucks and cars with hids...

i havn't got hibeamed, honked at, or fingered once since i put mine in... and no glare...
