Interesting they do not say DOT "approved", but "stamped". Probably means they are not legal.

i think you are allowed to have clear corners as long as you have amber turn signal bulb. i think they are legal but dont take my word for it!

Ur truck looks pretty sweet man, but u have an fx4, comes with black bumpers and wat not, i have the lariat with the chrome, i think clear headlights would go better chrome, than black headlights with chrome. just my opininon, but thanks for your input.

btw they are oem style lights not oem so leaking is a probability. i think as long as you have amber lights in it you should be fine...i live in ny and have had clearcorners on all my audis and never had a problem...

Probly legal so long as you keep amber lights were they need to be.

you should be fine. unless the cop is going around the vehicle looking for every possible infraction. just stick some amber bulbs or stealth bulbs so the glow yellow. truck looks great!

as far as the leaking goes just seal the edges up with silicone and they will be fine. i have the rip off harleys off ebay and mine are water tight.

I'd say as long as the corners are reflective you are good but that's just me saying...

there is a post somewhere in here where you can just take out the orange piece in your headlight they will be clear corners, and im sure you can find a clear piece to replace with them if you are worried about money. just a thought

this is how it works...

when altezzas first came out the were not DOT approved, so some companies put a fake stamp on them to make them look DOT approved. However yes you DO need an amber turn signal. the trick to all this is cops know they ARE illegal in any shape or fashon but rarely do much about it. In all reality, ANYTHING YOU DO to change the workings of a vehicle from the way it rolled of f the assembly line can be considered illegal. Even adding dual exhaust to a vehicle that did not come with it can be considered illegal. Many states have laws on the books about the various mods you do to any vehicle, but police rarely enforce it because its more like you are bending the law not really breaking it.

example: you have dual exhaust on your truck. while all the exhaust components are there, muffler, tailpipes, cats etc...they are not factory. the way a cop writes you a ticket for such exhaust is because its loud, not because it is aftermarket.

on to your question about clear corners.

yes they are illegal, and no you will probibaly never ever get stopped for them so long as they retain an amber signal bulb. I know several guys from an import car club that have clear corners and the cops around here never have once bothered them. Yet we go to the car show in carlisle, PA a few years ago and 7 out of 10 of them get tickets for clear corners.

with any mod you do, check into it a bit if you are unsure. aka go ask the cops and see what they say. but after you install them be prepared to pay a fine for them at some point. because not every cop in the world is always having a good day and sometimes you luck just runs out.

It all depends on the kind of cop you come across in your travels. I've met some cops that are the nicest guys you could ever meet, and I've come across that make me wonder how someone could have such a bad attitude and a badge at the same time.(actually they were Bi-Law guys all of those times). I've gotten a ticket for blue signals and markers in my young and stupid days with my old truck. The cop was a decent guy and luckily he offered me the chance to bring in the blubs and crush them in front of him to get out of the ticket..I got a ticket anyways though, I forgot I had blue reverse lights aswell and right after I crushed my blue marker lights and signal lights I caught a ticket in the parking lot of the police station backing out of a parking space with blue reverse lights. Like the guy above me said, some days you just run out of luck.

I don't think your average officer would be looking to see if your lights are DOT approved, specially when they look like stock pieces minus a few small details. Like most people have said, just be sure to keep Amber lights were they belong.
