Bull Bars

Anyone have one on the new body style? I'd like to get one with a pair of lights, just not sure if I'd rather put the money somewhere else in the truck. Any experiences that might sway me either way? Any brands other then Westin I should look into?

I have the black Westin on my 2004 Lariat with a set of KC HiLites .. great fit, easy to install (except for a minor wiring issue but that was my fault) and i love the look.

I've looked at the black ones, I've got chrome step rails and my wife says my bull bar needs to match the step rails, lol. Black is considerably cheaper, should I remind her she doesn't know anything about trucks or trust her fashion sense?

I would agree with your wife on this one, I went black cause I have no chrome on my truck at all.

i have a black bull bar and chrome wheels. I think the chrome bull bar would have looked bad with my color scheme.

She could be right though, I always thought your grille accessory need to match your toolbox or whatever. I guess my truck is just all over the place.

I'd vote for chrome if you have chrome step bars...

Well I went to art school, so maybe I'm thinking too much in art terms, but I think black would look good as a contrast against the polished bumper and grill, and make a good balance with the bug shield.

I think Black would be good for me if I got a chrome grill and then it'd match my bug shield and toolbox.

What about this westin one - black with some polished on the skid plate...

Also - I know performanceproducts.com sells a SmittyBuilt guard for $150 black and $250 Chrome - looks identical to Westin without the engraved name....

go with the black, ive got chrome runnin boards, and i have a black bull bar, also if your worried about losin your tow hooks, what I did was have my buddies dad fab me some four by four square stock and bolted those up and mounted the bull bar and tow hooks to those, ive been pulled out of a couple different situations and they have held up...
