Don't know. I got my from http://www.xenondepot.com/ for my fogs ( 3000K Yellow) and they work great. Not that expensive either depending on the brand you go with.

Think about this dude, only an extra $30 and you get bixenon, I bought from this guy and I'm really happy with them them, but I would get 4300K or 6000k vs. the 8000K (I'm sure you've read my thread). Plus this way you can keep those bitchin wigwags

www.xtralights.com. They are a little on the expensive side but you pay for what you get. I have two of their lights on my bike. Check out their Digital HIDS. They use 1 box that is very thin and lite.

Hey guys, I too am interested in doing this.

What I did hear is that these aren't really considered true HID's....thought you had to get the whole projector and match them up etc.

Total noob when it comes to lights. I want more light...need more light.

RollingRock,

HID's - done correctly are tough to beat. If you want a low cost fairly dramatic improvement, try replacing the bulbs in the small auxillary lights beside your front license plate (I can't call them fog lights because they're not) with 9005 Silverstar Ultra's. We've done that to most of our fleet of Super Duty trucks and the guys love them.

As for HID's you might want to check with Rockpick. He recently did his fogs (which are different than yours), but he may have also done his headlights.

For true HID lighting you'll need to do a retro fit. You can find out all the info you need at HIDPlanet. There is no HID kit that will give you the sharp Z cutoff and the look of quality OEM HID headlights. Another thing to consider is how you will handle HIGH vs LOW beams. Also, there are several threads that indicate that installing an HID kit is illegal. Furthermore, some of these same threads indicate that many who have installed the HID kit frequently get flashed by oncoming traffic.

heard you cant use a wig wag kit with hids because of the system how it has to warm up from the ballast and it with be two quick 25k voltage spike because thats what you need to ignite a bulb

all the heap kits are just overseas re branded crap...
i only use ignited products for my hids, but prolumin is great as well..

if you want to go with a cheap brand, make sure the warranty is strong for blown ballasts or bulbs, and make sure the company will still exist if something happens.

stick with 3-6k for best light output... 8k is ok, anything higher then that will look bright if looking at the truck but light output will be **** and worse then stock.

also like mentioned figure out your hi/lo configuration.. regardless of what you choose there are non hi/lo kits, and hi/lo kits available.

always have used "ignited performance" kits - roughly $300-350 its def not a cheap ebay or offshore kit but are backed by good warranty, company, and service... which is good to have on a product you don't want to ship/return, malfunction on you, etc if problems occur.

8000k on the truck (plan to go 3000kfoglights soon)
6000k on the wifes car

on my past car prior to selling it i had 8000k in headlights and 3000k in foglights as well.

easiest, and most rewarding modification imo.
in the truck with the lightning headlights i have pretty much no glare what so ever if any, and a decent cut off line surprising. i have them set at factory level as well and don't have problems with oncoming traffic etc

i just bought 14000k for my girlfriends car and just bought yellow fog bulbs for her believe it or not it looks good and i notice that its light output is just as good as the 10000k that i had in there before

so likes the 14000k because they are purple haha but she is kinda going for the whole UV light appearance for the car i dont know why. ill post a pic later when it is darker out

and as for ebay kits i have bought several for friends and customers and no complaints of flickering or anything ... and they are roughly around 75 to 125 just look for the seller speedy-zone good guy fast shipping

anything over 6000k you get a dramatic loss of light output. it goes down around 1000 lumens.
