Chromed out...Trim?
Hey everyone, I recently saw this picture:
This is owned by one of the members of these forums, but since My account is not active enough, I cant PM him.
What do you call the chrome trim that runs all around his truck on the bottom of the doors and whatnot?
Was it as simple as having someone remove all of those panels, chrome them, and then put them back on?
I've currnetly got a King Ranch in black with those trim pieces in tan, and it would look HOT in chrome, Is this a common thing? Can I get this done somewhere? How much would it run me?
I think that would really make my truck POP
Thanks, Jake

They have kits made for trucks already.
I forget what exactly its called, but searching chrome rocker panel trim in a search engine will get you a few results. Heres the first one that popped up on my quick search. There should be tons more companies that sell this stuff. http://www.customautotrim.com/products/chrome/
Its basically a stick on kit. Its precut and you just stick them on. Do research on the product though, as some of them cover almost all of the lower body panel and some only cover up say a 80% portion thereby leaving your tan color exposed.

They are usually a metallic peice thats either polished or chrome, and has sticky stuff on the back. Most are metallic though so its not like cheapo vinyl or stickers.
I thought the KRs only had the lower section painted, much like a two tone F150. They have bulky plastic rocker peices? It should be the same as any regular F150. Or what part are you talking about being elevated?
Also just a thought, but those chrome peices would look better with chrome front and rear bumpers IMO.

Thats why i was saying about the products covering up the area. They wont cover 100% of the tan on your lower portion. it will still show.

Chrome addition
2007 F150 XLT Supercab added bakflip tonneau cover, chrome bed rails, door handles, mirror covers and fender trim. Thinking of adding chrome rocker panel do anyone has an opinion base on what I did or will do? Any suggestion on 18" wheels? Check out my pictures.

It's called a Rocker panel stainless kit, and around the wheels are wheel lip moldings, you would have to remove your factory tan moldings first. the tan would still be seen above and below the kit. IMO these kits only look good on a solid color truck, don't look right on two tones! They are stuck on with two faced tape.
