Hey Bowser, thanks for the info bro. I might check out the new SS Ultra's. They're only 10 bucks more than the originals so not too bad. I just got my truck and I've already got the "mod" fever. I just put on the K&N FIPK and a billet grille, sooooo fun! I'm currently working on that stock stereo system upgrades and constantly looking at fun stuff. There is so much stuff for these trucks, it's incredible. Thanks again, Sean

Sean, don't expect a ton of difference on the headlights with the H13's. I only got a little increase but the light is whiter. I didn't get the ultras though, so you may get more on yours with the ultras. The biggest change on my 05 was the 9005 ST/2 fogs. I just tore the dash apart to replace some bulbs on my 98 and now that I know how to do it, I may just cough up the dough to do a white gauge face replacement on it after seeing a pic of someone else's on here somewhere. It looked awesome! -Dave

For the set of four, I spent around $117 with shipping from California to Missouri. To be honest, that was the best money I've spent on my 98 F-150. The ones I ordered are made by TYC and actually, the box says www.elegantebytyc.com, so I suppose that might be the web site of the manufacturer. I haven't visited the site so I'm not sure. One thing about these that I was displeased about was the bolt assemblies, the ones that are used to hold in the headlights and for adjustment. After putting them in, they seemed to be just a tad loose for my taste so I removed the bolts off my old headlights and put those on the new ones. They are now very tight and look awesome. Also, my headlights were always misaligned from the grille (by me, of course) because I adjusted them so I could see. These new ones are perfectly aligned with the opening all the way around and are adjusted perfectly. Like I said, that was the best money I've spent on my old truck. I drove it off the showroom in February of 1998, it has 137,000 miles on it, it runs like brand new and has only been in the shop once... to replace the heater core. My '05 sits in the garage and is probably developing a complex!!
Bowser:
I too ordered headlights from Ebay....but, mine were not the lightning style.

I also had trouble with the adjusters that came with the new lights. Pulled the old adjusters off the factory lights and installed in the new ones. Much better fit, etc.

the biggest difference you will see in the fog lights are the factory fogs are 45w and the 9005 are a 65w high bean headlight that is where you get the difference. I have just a set of normal 9005 's in my fogs and they are brighter than my H13's low beams. The 9005's have deffinatly made a big difference in night time driving.

Thanks for the heads up Bowser, I may just pay the extra 10 bucks and do the Ultra's to make sure I get the most for the mod. Yeah, the white face gauges look sweet. My Lightning had the white faced gauges and they looked awesome. That is a good mod to be thinking about for sure. Thanks again. Laterrrrr Sean

You have to watch out for the higher watt bulbs they can melt the wiring
going to the fogs
