There is a How-To on Fordf150.net I believe, but for some reason I cant get to it...

Its pretty simple. Just tape off the painted area around your badge, get some rags, cotton *****, Q tips, etc, put some acetone or fingernail polish on them, and start rubbing the black off... It take some work to get the black off. If you get the acetone on your paint, wipe it off with a wet rag right away or it could mess up your paint.

I acetoned my tailgate emblem, but it was to much chrome for me and I ended up yanking the badge off and painting the whole thing black.

It may look a little better if you just go over the letters and leave the black, give it some more contrast and make it stand out just a little more. Plus, you cant read what the badge says so it would be a pointless badge IMO.

I did it on my old truck('03 Supercrew) and it was really easy and looked good.

Same here. The 2 front ones, paint fell off. So I hit the back one and the paint won`t come off. Go figure.
