I got new head and tail lights.... [PICS].

The head lights work like regular Lightning head lights, but when the brights come on, the super bright projector comes on as well....

I can see about 4 times farther down the road now with the hi-beams on.

They were really heavy, the housing must be made of some thing other then plastic. It felt almost metalic?? I also had to get my dremmel grinder and grind out part of the bracket to make them fit.

It was absolutely worth it though..... I also found out why one of my head lights was turning yellowish. When I got done with my install a picked up my old head light to take it inside........ There was an ant crawling around inside of it??

It must have had some kind of leak that allowed dust to get into it?

It was easy.

They come with a wiring harness. You just plug every thing together and then plug it into one of the head light plugs. It then branches off into 2 wires that plug directly into your head lights. They even come with the bulbs in them already.

The only thing you will have to worry about is hooking up 2 red wires and 2 black wires. I put them together and connected them directly to the battery. {they come with blade fuses already wired into the harness.}

When you turn your brights on theres a relay in the wiring harness that turns on your projectors as well. Since you have your regular brights on I guess it needed a new circuit to run the extra power required for your projectors.

The actual wiring part of it only took me about 10 minutes.

The only problem I had was that the head light assembly didnt fit into its housing.

The original bulb design only needed room for 1 bulb, now your head light assembly has 2. I took my dremmel grinder and had to spend about 5 minutes making the space for 1 bulb big enough for the other bulb to fit in.

Not a big deal, I was just annoyed that I had to do it.

Are those tail lights street legal??

Like a fool, I was so impressed I went out and bought a set.

I live in pa, and have never seen no red tails before.

The trooper I talked to wasn't sure either.

So I wondered if they were ok in your state.

They put out red light. They have reflecters on them as well.

They dont reflect "Red" though, just white.

Im not sure if they are 100% legal, But I think a cop would have to be a real butt stain to make a big deal out of it.

If you are real worried about it, they sell them in red as well.

I dont think it really matters much, You already bought them?

Just put them on and hope for the best. I seriously doubt any one will bother you.

To check if they are legal look at the lens, somewhere around the visible edge you should find "DOT" and some other numbers and letters.

I recently bought different but similar tail lights that are clear, but you have to use a special bulb that puts out red light.

Below is an example of the DOT number (it is linked to the fullsized image):

These are the Head/Side and Tail lights I purchased, I look forward to installing them when I return home from Iraq.

Doug

PS I found them on eBay
