To me its one of those things, where you see a car at a car show that you dont really like, but you still appreciate it because they take care of it, and show they care by upgrading parts.

And toolmaann, thats a sweet looking silver truck. I love seeing other lowered trucks that look kinda like mine. Is that a snug top cover you have there? I would love to see more pics of your truck. You should start a gallery on this site too!

The only reasons I don't have a Lightning is 1) it has to be daily driven, snow too and 2) you should see the condition of the roads here, some good, some just terrible. I see a Lightning as a stang, or Cobra, you know, stored in the winter. These kinda cars I wouldn't drive all year because I'd have them as project/ performance vehicles, and I'm already doing one so no sense in having 2. I love trucks, beit lowered or raised. Maybe that is why they are so popular, because they appeal to many different crowds.

Maybe you should ask them...

I think it's just something else. Some people just like the truck over the car.

Whats the point of a Lightning or an SRT-10 Ram. It's not towing and hauling!

Thank you PatMan for the kind comment... Kind of a newcomer here, and unsure about how to link, add sigs and all that jazz... but did add a few pics to a gallery. My lid is an Astro cap.

signature is just listing a few mods and a pic, can be edited through your profile, when your logged in look at the black bar go to "quick links" should be an edit profile option in there also the edit signature.

as for creating links other the www.blahblah.(om read here https://www.f150online.com/forums/misc.php?do=bbcode

And you should be able to link your gallery through your profile so it shows the little camera up in the top right side of your post.

then when you post you have to check the show signature box just under the text feild.

I see what your saying, but in my humble opinion, yes it does look better stock. The thing I love about trucks is the height, the clearance is awsome I love the view and the suspension on the newer fords is one of the best on the market, that being said I like cars (BMW's, Sports Cars etc.) with really low profiles and wide tires, they corner like crazy, I just don't happen to like that in a truck. I like my truck because of everything I can do with it, and seeing as my last car was an Escort I am still overwhelmed every time I look in my driveway and see my truck sitting high and I love climbing UP into it instead of climbing down into my former car.

And Podunk, long live the el camino that was one badass car, I had a friend who had one I love the air shocks that you can pump up, or down depending on your preference.

Why ruin a rugged peice of equitment? I always thought the point of a truck was the bed, the fact that it sits higher, has more torque and a more rugged suspension for towing and hauling. I'm not damning it, I've just never been exposed to this type of attitude towards trucks. Perhaps its cause I'm from Texas or maybe I'm just weird I dunno.
You seem to think "street truck" means slammed and impractical.....

For years I had a Mustang and an F150, one for fun, one for hauling and winters. That means storing two vehicles, making payments on two vehicles, paying insurance on two vehicles, etc....now thats impractical... I finally got tired of it and since I pretty much never needed four wheel drive I combined the two of them. The Roush I have now if the perfect vehicle for me, could be faster and maybe will be down the road, but its an excellent combination of what I used to have to own two vehicles to have and do....

I never understood the sports car thing either, or just the speed obsession in general if it goes the speed limit then it is fast enough for me.

Good for you. Buy what makes you happy. I like lots of power, I buy what makes me happy.

Different people like different things, simple as that. Its no different than saying "I think blondes are the best looking, I can't understand why anyone would like brunettes...." If you have a little bit of an open mind they can all be hot....

True but brunettes don't kill or endanger people's lives.

Decent power for practical purposes is one thing, vehicles that exceed safe speeds are dangerous. 0-60 in four seconds is impractical and in the end only puts you behind bars or in the ground. Who needs to go that fast on public roads? I've scraped too many bodies up off the pavement thanks to overpowered cars with drivers that like to fly down the highway 100mph. Just yesterday I had a "drift car" zip by me on the highway on the shoulder doing at least ninety, a few minutes later when I hit my exit I saw the a**h*** pulled over with a state trooper throwing the book at him. I was filled with such a great feeling to know that this guy was finally recieving some consequences for his total disregard for the law and the safety of others.
