If I had to choose I'd say black, depends what color your truck is. The chrome ones are a little 'ricey' as they say on this site, but not bad, what do those go for$$$ They HID?? I'm probably goin with the black Harley heads, I like the OEM look myself. Not bad though, post your pics when u get 'em

The black ones are like $182. they aren't HID, just projection which is just a lens, but i imagine they would look nice with a PIAA or NOKYA bulb in them.

I bought the black ones that are pictured up top. If its for more light output that you want to get these I would wait until the Roush HIDs come out. But if it pretty much for the look they make the truck look great. The low beam projector is not very bright, less than stock. I put some H1 silverstars and it was still pretty bad. The halogen projectors are sweet looking though. They have a step in the cutoff which is the only place where there is a little rainbow coloring. In the right spot there is a little flicker of blue. The H1 high beam reflector however is very bright the light is put directly in front of you rather than spreading it too far to the sides. I didn't put silverstars in there yet but will soon as I am in the process of putting HID projectors and OEM HIDs in place of the halogen projectors and H1 bulb. I will take the silverstars I used for low beams and put them in the high beams. Good luck on your purchase

Unless I am misreading it, I assume that you mean the project a small amount of colored light. If this is so you might want to check with your state laws and find out whether this is illegal or not. I know in Texas any kind of emergency colored lights (red/blue) which project from the vehicle (this includes undercarriage which shines anywhere beyond the border of your vehicle) are illegal. As to whether or not people have been stopped for it well it depends on who you know, where you are, and what you have been doing as to whether or not DPS or locals will write you up for it. Just a headsup I love the look of so much stuff and I keep checking on what I can/can't do with my vehicle since I am employed by the sheriff department here and I get tired of the sheriff being on my ***. Oh well that is a lil off topic but it's 3am and I am in a pissy mood cause I got to fix oatmeal for the inmates.

I appreciate the heads up but what I meant by the flicker of blue was from the halogen projector cutoff. Similar to the HID colorful cutoff but much less color. An example of the flicker is when you are passing Benz, BMW, lexus, etc...you get the blue/purple flicker from the headlights. At the right angle there is a bit of blue from the halogen projector. The only place where there is a little color if from the step in the cutoff. __/--- that sort of thing. HIDs sometimes have a colorful cutoffIf I get a chance I will take a pic and post it to show you exactly what I mean. I was saying these things because FordF1Fitty was thinking about purchasing these so I was just sharing some thoughts about these lights eventhough they look great there are some disadvantages in performance. Hopefully not when I'm done with my HID retrofit.

Completely Understand

I understand what you are saying, just wasn't sure as to how noticeable it was. Right now I am mainly reading all of these posts seeing what people are doing with their trucks and wishing I could afford to to some stuff with mine at the moment. I just thought I would mention the little tidbit about the lights because alot of people don't realize that even something so small can quickly become something major depending on who spots it (is what kept me from gettig the lighting for ground effects on my probe I used to have) so many of these mods that we "CAN" do aren't exactly legal. Anyways that is getting off topic, but just kind of a heads up and lets see some pics. I am off work and out of this damned jail in 3 hours

As far as retrofit kits for our trucks there are H13 HID kits available but the legality and performance is debateable as you can find a lot on the issue by searching the forums. But when you retrofit HID projectors and ballasts to create an output that of OEM HIDs well I think its superior to halogen and HID kits. I am still in the progress of retroing HIDs into my truck. I am waiting on a wiring harness that is being custom made for me. Actually the harness should be at my door when I get home today with any luck.

I like the chrome better. My car is geared with similar headlights. It's really cool especially if you're driving at night. However, it would still depend on your car's color tone or style.
