Window Tint.....Good or Bad?

Well today I got 5% put all the way around on my truck and I noticed that on the back glass it like a bunch of tiny little air bubbles and when I asked the guy about them he said that was normal and the sun would heat them out within a week. I was just wondering if this really is true or if it's a problem that I should be worried about?

Yea the bubbles will go away after a few days.

Just wondering what state you live in that you can get away with 5%?

I have had extensive experiences with tinted windows as I have had every vehicle I've owned over the last 20 years tinted the minute I drive them off the lot. I love my windows tinted, the privacy they afford, and the especially the look. In my experience, if you have a few small bubbles right after the windows are done, they MAY disappear in a few days after the water dries out. If there is alot of bubbles or they are large, the window will look better in a few days, however they probably won't disappear. I have had this happen many times, and I've brought the vehicles back to have them redone after a few days when the bubbles don't go away. They look really bad if you have alot. Take your truck back and have them do it over again in a few days. Oh and make sure you NEVER use an ammonia based window cleaner like Windex for example, when you need to clean the windows. Ammonia will soften the tint and ruin it. It's what the manufacturer's suggest to use if you want to remove the tint at a later date. Good luck!!

I dunno bout that. Usually most bubbles stay, or have in my cases. What is tough on sedan cars and stuff is the tiny defrost circles at the top of the backglass. Besure to use tint safe cleaner, windex equals terrible bubbles, lines and b/s.

I woudn'y stress it, I have the same bubbles. I just got my windows tinted 2 days ago. 20% front two to match the back windows. However where I went they guarentee the tints for one year, so if they peel, fade, turn purple or the bubbles dont go away they will replace it for free. I am sure where you went they honor the same deal.

I have some experience with tinitng windows and I would also have to agree with everyone else here. If you notice some cloudy spots in the film, that is the water/soap solution that they used to adhere the film.Thats normal, but Of course in a week if they are not gone, i would highly recommend going back to the shop who applied the film..

I live in Kentucky and in the town in which i live they could honestly care less about the darkness of tint on your windows. Alot of people drive around with 2.5% tint and never get a thing said to them. I guess thats the perks that come with living in a small rural area. I mean hey, if we dont even have a walmart or mcdonalds then we might as well get to tint our windows as dark as we want.

The guy who installed my tint used a small needle and made a very small hole for the air in the bubble so the air could get out and then smoothed it out with a credit card. I dunno if this would work now that the tint has been on for awhile. Just a thought.....

how hard is it for you to see out of them at night? I want to get my sides 2.5 and my back 5 or 10, and everyone tells me that its very hard to see out of them at night.

I have very little trouble seeing out the back at night and I have 5% on the back. Even if you cant see out that well, its not hard to back up using your side mirrors. The look greatly out weights the little bit of incovience for me. I love the limo window look.
