Harley Grille installed
I just finished installing a Harley grille in my truck. Got it from WWW.Karkraft.com for $79.00 + S&H ($24.00).

Looks Great! Was it tough to install? How about some picts in bright daylight?

The install is fairly simple (even I could do it!):
You have to remove the grille surround. To do this you need to: remove the flat piece on top of radiator; remove the turn signal lamps (no need to remove headlights); remove srewson top of surround; remove push-in fasteners on bottom of surround. Finally, you need to firmly pull the surround forward to free it from two metal clips located in front of the radiator. Once surround is free, remove grille by unsnapping a bunch of
snap fasteners holding grille to surround. Remove Ford center and install on new grille. Reinstall everything in reveres order. All parts are plastic and fairly easy to work with. Whole install takes about 45 mins.

My god, I would never pay $79.00 for a piece of plastic. What's up with the $24.00 S&H. I purchased and installed a Stull billet aluminum grille with the highly polished finish for my 01 F-150 SC. I purchased it from carparts.com, total cost $115.69, which includes S&H. Be sure to take advantage of the $30 discount coupon.
hey screwyou, two things: 1) the HD grille isn't plastic 2) $79.00 + $24.00 = $103.00, which is cheaper than $115.69 . . .

Mitch: Nice going...I'll bet it looks nice.
Dennis:You have to use the Ford oval...the HD grille is just like the other OEM grilles; it has the spot in the center for the oval. There is no getting around this either. The only way to eliminate the oval is to go billet (although one guy actually modified an eggcrate grille; he cut the center part out and replaced it with a matching grille section then painted the whole thing black).

The HD grills I've seen are plastic (looks like billet, but chromed plastic all the same), has this changed w/ the '01 model? If you go to his website, the grill is plastic!
Either way, the grill looks great!! Thanks, Doc
