Talking

I've got clear front corners, euro tails, two sets of fog lights which also have a blue fog light feature on one side of the switch, and have never had any law enforcement officer give my truck a second look. Oh, I also have the front license plate under the front seat,a BIG no no in TX. I'm sure I'd go directly to prison if I ever got stopped in my truck
My fiance has an 82 RX-7 which never had a front license plate since she has owned it,what happens in that situation?
I got stopped in it once having fun on wet pavement, but they never looked at the front of the car?,,,,98

Blue Lights indicate a Volunteer Firefighter

And having the lights out in the open, weather on or off is Illegal. I know, I was stopped years ago in Indiana. I had 2 4 inch Blue lights mounted on a brush guard on my 78 blazer. I was a volunteer fireman at the time and was stopped twice, once by city and once by state. I showed my ID and turnout gear, got the lecture about the legality and went on my way. I didn't remove them, but I had a reason, I feel.

Just depends on what state you live in. Our volunteers must be marked and have RED lights. Blue lights indicate Police (as per the state laws).
GA also made a law that only marked units can make traffic stops. Citizens are not required to stop for an unmarked car using blue emergency lights (see the rapes-murders comments above).

98 Screamer, there's a better way to talk your way out of the license plate ticket for the front plate: Take it out from under the seat, and plant your heal into it once, real good, right in the middle. Then, if an officer pulls you over for it, you show him the plate and say, "But officer, someone backed into me in town the other day and it got all mangled and it won't stay on." It's more believable if it's in the plastic holder and that's bent up too... My buddy in Boston got out of those situations 3 different times! Lucky punk...

Chad, since you are from Hazard, I would suggest not speaking to Boss Hogg about this as he will find a way to make money from the situation. Sorry guys, had to put that one in.

Cool

I actually had it on til I noticed it was scratching the bejesus out of my painted bumper(Off it came, lol) I wil eventually buy a new factory unit, trim the bottom so it wil fit my airdam, and buzz off the stupid frame repelling edge. I had to cut the darn thing off just to switch it out from my old chrome bumper. Why do they have such huge rivets holding them on anyway? ,,,,98

Question

1GoodCop: I have a set of EGR headlight covers that are the 3D carbon fiber look type. They only block thirty percent of the lighting coming out. I have tried them out at night and the visibility is ok with fog lights on but not too great without. I was just wondering if they are legal for night driving or not. The front ones are easily popped on and off but the back ones are the double-sided tape so I wanted to know the legality of the matter before i stuck those babies on. Thanks.

No, and Yes.

I found them cheaper at Northcoast Performance. www.nthcoast.com

They look very close to stock during the day. The Blue color on the oval isn't quite as dark, but unless you happened to be looking for it, you'd never know.

I had a run-in with the Ann Arbor constabulary shortly after I installed it. It is illegal to display a blue light on a vehicle here in MI (which I knew) and the officer was very nice about it. I wasn't doing anything else wrong (I actually thought I was speeding, but she said I wasn't) so she ran my record and that was it. I told her that I had shown it to some friends earlier in the night and must've forgot to turn the switch off. She verified it was on a switch and was off, and reminded me it's illegal, and sent me on my way. I guess I can't play dumb in Ann Arbor any more. Both my parents have them and have never been bothered by the Grosse Ile police (except for my friend who's an officer there who pulls them over once in a while just to say hi)
