Question Carbon Fiber

Ive been wanting to get a carbon fiber kit for my truck but damn they seem a little expensive. I found a place that sells the covers that attach with 3M tape, but dont know if that will look cheap and poor quality. Its only like 180 or so, but the actual carbon fiber is like 600 or something crazy like that. Should i waste my money on the cheap stick ons or the actual carbon fiber?

Hey Loco,

My only advice is "you get what you pay for". If you *really* like that carbon stuff save for a couple of months and get the real thing. Maybe the fake stuff will not last you for a couple of summers. I personally don't care for any after market stuff on my dash.

Yep you get what you pay for. But 600 bucks is an awfull lot.I think I would have o see the 180 dollar ones before passing judgement on them. I do have a B&M carbon fiber look shifter **** and it doesn't look cheap or fake.

Ive been looking for the same thing myself, and I have been looking awhile now and although i agree with you get what you pay for, I think your nuts to pay 600.00. The road I am going to go is through jcwsporttruck.com look at the "designer dash" carbon fiber kit, its runs about 300.00. As far as I can see its one of the best ive found and the people I talk to say its looks great. Just my opinion though.

Thumbs down

I have a real carbon fiber kit that I got for $283 wholesale.
In my opinion, the cutting and finish was not as clean as it should have been and some of the pieces didn't fit right, so I sent them back; they have not replaced them yet.
It almost seems as though they didn't have a SuperCrew to take proper measurements.
Whatever you get, make sure it fits!

I have the real carbon fiber dash trim. It is thin with the 3m double sided tape. It is real carbon fiber, not the cheap stuff. People always mitake it for a whole dash replacement. I spent about $300.
