Yup! Driving through Ann Arbor, MI last night, and got pulled over. I thought I might have been speeding, but really had no clue why I was pulled over... when the officer came to the window, and asked if I knew why I had been stopped, I told her I was lost and thought I might have been speeding... she informed me that I hadn't been speeding (WHEW!) and that it was because I had a blue light on the front of my vehicle (which is illegal in the state of Michigan except for police/emergency vehicles). I played dumb, and explained to her that I had just installed it a few days ago just for show, and normally don't leave it on, and I was showing it to a couple of friends earlier, and I must've left it on, I'm sorry, I'll turn it off right now... sooo sorry, ma'm... she went back and ran my record, and let me off no problem... reminded me to leave it off on the roads.

[Note to self... Leave logo off in Ann Arbor, and have license, registration, and insurance handy so the cop isn't stuck freezing his or her rear off!]

Good friend is local PD here in my fair city. Asked him if he would pull someone over for the logo light and he said no. He did warn me about the State Police though!
Said it's possible they would as some are former Registry Of Motor Vehicles police.

I thought I was going to get pulled over for speeding the other night when I seen the cop at the last minute but got lucky and so did the car behind me as if I would have been pulled over I would have said a few choice words and asking why me and not the guy doing the limit with one head light out instead as I feel thats more of a danger than a speeding driver.

This is just a heads up to all that might be driving on I-95 or I-495(Wilmington Bypass) In DE. The State Police are in overdrive writing out tickets for speeding. I counted 5 speed traps along a 20-mile stretch this morning. I got mine last week, in DE, for allegedly doing 72 in a 55. (I live in DE and work in PA)

The Delaware trooper looked to be about 15 and the fact that I showed him my Philadelphia Prisons Badge made no difference. A rookie out to save the world, with no sense of the brotherhood.

Can I get some info from anyone that has any on radar and what could be used as a defense in court. In Philadelphia radar is not allowed, only the Pennsylvania State Police are allowed to use radar so my Philly police contacts can't help out too much with info.

I am going to try and plea bargain down to a non-points offense, however if this does not work I need some ammo.

I thought where I live was bad. Around here, if you do so much as fart while driving, consider yourself pulled over. I was leaving a bar one night (sober- designated driver) with my friends and got pulled over.That cop was sure I had been drinking.She said my left front tire touched the center line. I was told to extinguish my cigarette, she wanted to smell my breath. Ok fine(smelled like smoke-duh).She decides its time for a sobriety test.I am like what I have only had water to drink. So its time for me to follow her finger with my eyes. I am told to remove my glasses-she can't see my eyes.Keep in mind, I need these glasses to see with.I failed that part.I couldn't even see her damn finger she was wearing black gloves and it was dark out. Passed the next part and was told that I would probably have blown a not legally drunk number (it is .08 is oregon). I am thinking "well no ****,water has no alcohol in it". The cop then had the nerve to tell me that I could count myself pulled over again, if they saw me leaving a bar again. Well, 2 months later, I traded off that truck and haven't been bothered since then.That was 1 1/2 years ago.Really makes you wonder about the cops today.No offense Davensa.I just had a bad experience with my city cops.

You have to take it to court first off. 50% of the time the cop won't even show up and the case gets dismissed. If he shows, you need to have facts on what radar was used. Then hammer the cop with questions like:

1. When was the last time the unit was calibrated.
2. Was he stationary or moving at the time of clocking your speed.
3. If he was moving, did he check the tire pressure of his car that day, as incorrect tire pressure will throw of accuracy of the radar unit off.
4. Is he trained and certified in using his radar unit, and can he produce his certificate to show this.

You may think this sounds crazy, but I have won many cases like this. Cops just aren't ready for knowledgable people when it just comes to a simple speeding ticket.
