Angry APC Overlay

I must have done something wrong, because this thing sucks. I can't see any of the warning indicators clearly on the dash. The holes for the needles are too small and none of the needles are reading correctly. Is the thing just supposed to lay on your old black face or is it a sticker that lays on the white piece of plastic?

Rodney,

Sorry, wish you had seen my post. That overlay is a piece of junk! I never even put it on my gauges because I could see it woul not fit right or at best very half-***. Ibought mine from Godfather Customs, they suck too! They wont even respond to my asking for help to return the piece of trash.
PEOPLE...STAY AWAY FROM THE APC SPEEDO OVERLAY!!! AND GODFATHER CUSTOMS

roush fan1...We are talking about the overlays, not the white faces.

Cool

I have the APC indiglo gauge overlay in my 99, and I had to remove the stock black gauges. It was a pain in the a$$ but well worth the effort. If you want pics let me know via e-mail ...SILVERFORDF150@aol.com

Has anyone purchased the white face or indiglo gauges from the online store? If so, what do you think about it.

The gauges from the online store are great, although I did not purchase mine from there they are the same brand as mine.

What is the best way to re-calibrate the gauges. I just kept in mind where the gauges were at and put them back manually. However, My RPMs are under by like 300 RPM and speed under by like 5 mph. Any ideas on how to fix or where to take to fix?

I'll start from top left on the dash and work my way around...1)the oil pressure was about 50%,2)the gas tank should be full when you do this, but you can check by knowing approximately how much fuel you get when you fill up regularly, 3)the speddometer can be checked by driving 1 mile in 1 minute=60 mph.I then checked it @55 and 70. 4) the tach should be around 600 I believe(4.6L) at idle and around 1500 at 60 mph. 5)the the truck should be at operating temp or cold when you do it...at oper. temp. the gauge will be 50% and cold it will be just below markings. 6)the charge was at 50% also.
Now, these were my readings and I haven't had any problems and i've gone through a couple of speed traps since then.

Alright guys, I just read this post and it was BEFORE I ordered the APC overlays. I see two people say they suck and about three that say they are fine. For those that have them and like them, can you post some pics so I can see what they look like??? Also, for those that like them, how hard was the install???

I cheaped out.

I just finished installing the aluminum dash overlay in my 97. Other then having to customize the odometer push pin, (had to make it a bit smaller to fit thru the bezel), it was a piece of cake.

I truly like the look. (lot better than that boring azz all black look).

Best 15 bucks I ever spent..........(so far).........
