how did you smooth out the steps on the side of the truck. Did you buy some typ of insert or did you fill it yourself. Let me know what how and was it expensive to do. By the way your truck looks great.

Thats one sweet lightning man, im in the TampaBay area as well. Your whole truck ties together very nicel, except you need to get that tailgate handle color matched
. And maybe some clear flareside tail lgihts, there now avaiolable in the new products section of this bulletin board. Sweet truck man, what dealer did you buy it from?

Jackal:
I snagged my SVT Lightning from Brandon Ford last August. It was just sitting there freshly delivered. You wouldn't believe the horror stories from the other 99.99999% of Lightning owners that actually had to special order one. Fate?.....
Not too sure about the clear tail lenses. If you look at the last picture in the post, it almost looks as if they're clear. Compare it to the first picture. I personally like the red better but thank you for the suggestion.
Next is a 4/2 suspension drop!!!!
Hey, we're talking about putting a West Florida group together. Lightnings and non-Lightnings, too. Will let you know.

Very Nice, TBL!
I agree on the tailgate handle (as I am looking to do this to mine too -- it really bugs me that FoMoCo doesn't put one on stock). You mentioned the mirror fronts, so you;ve got that covered. If you're sure you won't get sick of RED, I might suggest a color matched hard tonneau cover -- but you may like the soft better for ease of use?
Anyway, your truck definitely shows that you take good care of it!
BTW -- how did you soundproof your cab?

Thanks.
The soundproofing was done by completely gutting and Dynamatting.

I know what you mean about too much red. I may go with the Pace Edwards rolltop in black. I have an extra aux. button on the remote for one more thing(remote start already there) so I may remote control a rolltop bed cover. I think it'd be cool.....

Sounds cool, id love to see your truck in person, i checked the link you posted about dynomatting the inside, what size speakers are those behind the seats, who made the box, whats the box made out of? Ok so no clear tail lense's but how about a color keyed tailgate handle and that ultra sleek cobra hood they make for the f1 *drool*.
Jackal:
MTX makes the Thunderform out of solid plastic. Mine contains 2 - 200w. model 5000's I think. I also put 4 Polk Audio DX7's (5x7's) in back and rear. Looking to replace the subs with Polk MoMo's soon(soon as I can find them under $700.00 a pair on E-bay).
I think the colored tailgate handle sounds good. Maybe I'll do it when I get the hood painted. I personally like the steel cowl-type more that the F-1, but everybody has their own tastes. The F-1 was my second choice. Maybe first choice if I can't find the right cowl.
We're trying to put together a meeting in St. Pete. this month. I'll give you the $5.00 tour of the L if you want.

Sounds like a date. Im sure whatever you do to that truck its never going to look anything but sweet. I am a caraudio buff myself and worked part time for a caraudio shop when I was in high school in new port richey. JJust an opinion but ive never heard a better sub then the one's Eclipse makes, they require a descent amount of mounting depth (not allot of airspace thogh) but you should ahve enough, theese subs are the ones with the all aluminum cone, plus they look totally trick, esp in a sporttruck.
Awesome looking truck there TampaBayLightning. I just lowered mine with a 3/5 drop and I already had colormatched bumpers and mirrors, but I still want more colormatched stuff. Is there a specific bodyshop or chain where those steps are available from. I am in Jacksonville, but a trip to Tampa could be made if needed. Also what kind of mirrors are you switching to. I was thinking about taking mine apart and having the black parts painted white, but not sure if this would work. Am also considering the street sceene mirrors.
If you check truckin' magazine, a company called "Specialtiy Covers" already has a motorized roll top cover like the Pace-Edwards and the truck in the add is a stepside. This might be just the thing for you if you want to control it with your remote.

Chris:
Thanks for the info. on the cover.
I'm keeping the original mirror housings with the Muth mirrors. Just want to have the front caps colormatched. Spent too much on the Muth's to switch to Street Scenes anytime soon.
Contact Dave @ (727) 847-4268. The shop is actually in Port Richey, FL.
Expect to pay around $150.00(prepped for paint only). If a few more people are interested, he'll probably discount. Give him your paint code, and he'll prep, paint and ship them finished. This guy does superior work! Sir Micheal's is the one that put me in touch with him.
Let him know I sent you. I may want to have him do some custom work for me later.
Good Luck!
Rich
