Joe, you need it and drill for it. If you add the two additional clips to the rear sides you should not have to use the push clip on it. Like I said, if you dont use that large round clip you can go back and take the scoop off anytime for cleaning underneath. Once that clip is pushed on the big locating pin it aint coming back off.
The 2 extra clip locations when drilled should have to hole just inside from the edge of the lip. Just remember not to overtighten any of the screws when installing. If the is any pics you need let me know, I have a bunch in my gallery or can take some for anything you need to see.

Thanks OLD man I'm going to wait a couple days before I put it on because my paint is very smooth but I want it to dry COMPLETELY. Any who, I don't have any questions as of now, but in a couple days I probably will.

What I plan on doing, I painted it black(no truck color) and it looks sweet. I'm going to put a mustang stripe on it

and put "Triton 4.6L V8" on the sides.

Black with that stripe should look good on your truck, mine is black, doesnt work. I thought about putting a small yellow 5.4 on the side of it, then thought it would look to trans amish. Decided to put the 5.4 on the side emblem where it use to say XLT an just above the Triton. It looks better there.
OH, and who ya callin OLD man, punk kid, when I get up from my nap your gettin your a$$ whipped.

sleddog:

do you have any problems with water and your hood scoop? it looks like you would soak your filter in a downpour, and i cant imagine that as being a good thing.

Got the scoop from a guy named Neal the hp freak on here.
Not sure if it has done much for performance, does seem to have a little something more after 30 or so MPH, I think the ram effect kicks in then maybe.
I was really supprised that I havent had water issues. I was exspecting to maybe have some. But I have driven at 80 mph in a down pour and no water reached the filter. This I think is due to the intake duct I made having a slight rise to it. Also when I first installed the air duct, I drove in a light snow, and them snow flakes where just dissappearing in that thing. Am sure I will not have the ram effect in winter.
The best performance I have seen from this scoop is the looks I get, especially when I kick it down and it makes that great sucking noise through the scoop(think old 4 barrell with the air filter open). Entered in a burnout compatition the first week end in June, am hopen as I burn the smoke will get drawn back in the scoop for a cool effect. Hope its calm that day.

I posted the hole process on a thread called scoop install. I used the top of an airbox off a 91-93 Lumina, hose from a 93 thunderbird, and a little self engineering. Hoping to have the finished surround on the think this next week so it will look a lot better. It has been in test mode for about a month now. Everytime I drove in rain, I would stop and check for water at the filter and found nun. I have several weep holes drilled for drainage.

I just want to get it the easy way even if i have to spend a little more than searchin for all the stuff myself.. i guess cuz i dont wanna screw soemthin up .. rather it be done by someone else.. as long as u dont garentee anything and us ell it as an "at your own risk" kinda thing u cant get in trouble so all would be good.. as long as ur not rippin everyone off i guess it'd be great well goodluck if u'd like to some how make a kit im sure many people would appriciate it..

Goodluck!

Take care,
-TJ

ps.. i dunno if it makes a difference for some of us with v6's or not.. but oh well :-)
