Shorter Replacement Antenna?

The underground parkade has taken it's toll on my 2000 F150.
Any replacements out there for my newer one that is adjustable or shorter and looks good?
TIA

This is mine. Found it searching on the web. I also used a Navigator Chrome base cap, too.

I popped the ball off the end of mine . . . cut enough off so the top is just under the roof . . . tapered it a bit . . . put the ball back on . . . easy mod . . . !

I performed the same mod that swampview did, except I cut it off so that the ball was still just slightly above the roof line. That way I would know if I was going to clear low garages.

Got a Shorty Antenna. They offer them in a variety of colors and lengths (I'm using a 6" chrome antenna). The mast is thicker than stock, but all metal. They offer adapers for most domestic trucks including the F-150. The good thing is that mine fit exactly like a factory part. Zero problems, and I nolonger need to reach when putting on the car cover.

I just tried to perform the "ball-pop-off" method, but I was unsuccessful in getting the damn little thing off. Is there some trick to getting the ball to come off the top of the antenna?

All I did was use a pair of locking pliers with a cloth to help protect the black paint, and slowly twisted it back and forth. It came off pretty easily.

Once I cut the rod down, I put a dab of super glue on the end of it and put the ball back on the same way. I also had to lightly run a file across the end to get the ball back on.

I did notice that my cloth only minimized the amount of scraping on the ball, but I just used a little bit of black vehicle touch up paint that I happened to have, to touch up the ball.

I finally figured it out yesterday. I ended up having a friend hold the antenna while I put the forked end of a crowbar over the ball and hit it with ha hammer. It was kinda like killing birds with a bazooka, but hey, at least it worked!

trimmed mine last night, couldn't get enough leverage with my wire cutters, so i used vice-grips at the point i wanted it cut, and took the hacksaw to it.
came off quick, little touchup paint. didn't put the ball back on yet. gonna watch it at highway speeds and see if it's effected at all.
