2004 STX Mods - Comments Please
I just picked up my 2004 F150 STX Heritage this week. Now looking to dress it up a little more. Its Bright Red. Line-Xed the bed already, Black.
Now its on to the headlight and tailing areas, I just can’t decide whether to get the clear corners or get the smoked corners and smoked headlight covers.
Black Corners and Headlight covers

One concern here is that, different shades of black my look bad.
Clear corners and leave the stock headlight alone

Taillights

I really like the stylinconcepts best, but not worth $169.
Other things I am going to do or thinking about:
Mod the headlight switch, so foglights can be turned on without the headlights.
Thinking about Day Time Running Light – Not sure yet
Thinking about changing out the gauge panel, I want a tach. (not a cheap mod for a tach)
Sure would like some comment or recommendation, especially about the headlights (on a Bright Red STX)
Thanks

I ended up buying a pair of no-name aftermarked clear 'diamond cut' corners and some carbon fiber tails from ebay. The moment they arrived I wished I would've spent the extra money and gotten TYC's. I have the TYC L replica headlights and they are beautiful.
You paid good money for your truck, don't skimp on the accessories.

I wouldnt get those corners unless you plan on replacing the headlight as well. I think it looks pretty goofy to have the crystal clear corners with the stock headlights. You can get corners that are like the oem just without the yellow. Thats what I did and think it looks a lot better for the 30 bucks I paid for the corners.

I got mine on ebay. Most of them say they are fit up to 02...mine is an 03 and they seem to fit...not sure what year you have. Here is another thread on the clear corners that look like mine...

If you go to ebay motors and search for F150 in lamps and lights you'll find a bunch of auctions. These are the ones I bought and they seem to be of good quality. The only complaint is that I had to remove one and it was a little harder to slide out than stock but not a huge problem.

Thanks Florida!!
found 'em!! Gonna get me some today!! BTW my truck is a 2000.
Sorry 509eagle...this is your thread, didn't mean to take it over
Welcome to F150online and F150 ownership!!
For your mods: I agree with you thinking the 2 shades of black might not look right together on the headlights and corners. But if you leave the stock headlights I'd go with the corners that Florida is talking about. I think they look better than having a crystal clear corner and a stock headlight. Find them here:

I like the stylinconcepts tail lights as well but they are a little pricey aren't they. If you go with the eBay ones, I like these ones best:

I like the idea of modifying the headlight switch, how would you do that? I might consider that one myself!! Would you need daytime running lights if you did that? I'd think you could just use the foglights instead. And a tach is a great thing to have, my truck came with one.
Hope you get what you want and like what you get!! Good luck and post some pictures when you get it all together. Have a good one!!

I ended up by getting clear corners from procarparts.com, they look great, the 2004 Heritage has clear headlights.
Got my tail from there too, they are cool.
And I love being able to turn on the fogs with just the parking lights on. For those interested the directions are at http://www.svtlightnings.com/svt/how...s/foglamps.htm
It is really pretty easy to do.
