How do u acteone the ford emblem like this - i alreaded actetonted the f-150 emblem...but i like the idea of the ford one like that


Cause that looks hella sick...and another thing, do u think a 2001 harley grille would look sick on my 2001 f150 ext cab? cause i dont wanna have to cut out my shell to put on in, i just want to take mine out, and replace it. Thx im new to this moding stuff, since im only 17 and i dont get alot of money to mod it up

 

you don't acetone the ford emblem. that is the super slow and waste of time way to do it. you either dip it in boiling water for a few minutes and pull the rubber insert off, or heat it with a heat gun or hair dryer and pull the rubber insert off and you should be left with a nice chrome badge. if there is any blue paint left, althought ehre shouldn't be, some acetone will gget that right off

in other words....u can leave it on ur truck and blowdry the emblem until the plastic comes off?? ...if so...then im going to do that tommorrow...thanks for any info anyone may have

 

you are better off taking it off the truck, but you don't have to. heating it up will also loosen the double sided tape that is holding your tailgate emblem on,, so it may fall off when you are pulling on it. the grille emblem you shouldn't have any problems with though cuz thats bolted in, although it still may be easier to take it off, especially if you have to clean any spots with acetone cuz you don't want to get it on your paint.

or do u think the tape will be ok after it cools

 

yeah thats all you need. it worth a shot, just don't heat it up too much. only thing is when you are pulling on the clear insert, the whole emblem may pop off, but its worth a shot

 

So has anyone tried the acetone mod on an Expedition? If so, any pics?
