Thumbs up READ: If you are looking for the right place to ground...

Find a nice place within 3' of amp and pull up carpet. Sand the area until it's nice and shiney...no paint / primer. Use a stainless bolt and lock washer with gold ring terminal in end of ground wire. (Should be same gage as power. 8 ga. or better.) Do not use existing, galvanized bolts, and do not chassis ground.

The above sugestion is good, but a 3 foot ground is much too long....the shorter you can make the ground the better.

Snap-On has a cool sanding tool that goes on a cordless drill, it strips paint and stuff for making grounds. Use a self tapping sheet metal screw 1/4" (look underneath the truck first!!!!) Then run your ground to your amp. I run 4 gauge power and 4 gauge ground (4").

Yup...

...the shorter the better, but generally, 3 feet is fine.
