On that sub box, checked the other boxes from that seller (since I am in the market for one for my '11 FX2) and my only concern would be that the speakers fire up into the back seats. Personally, I would rather have a down firing design, less chance of putting something through your subs when you have the back seats up loading groceries, etc.

So far none... I've had to send so much money between school, brakes and still have another $1k to spend in the rear end at Ford. I'm going to try to piece it together over later this winter and spring. I love the Shaker HU though

Well a bit of a bump.

I've installed this HU this past weekend

Pioneer DEH-33HD

And have it powering these speakers right now

Kenwood Excelon's

Now I plan to add a 10" sub and new component speakers in the front doors so there is a bit more power and due to the HU I can only run the front speakers and the sub off the amp. Since the amp is pretty powerful I have to keep the gains low. Any recommendations on a good quality pair of components and a good 10" sub? I'm planning on a console sub box that I will be making so I want to build it to the specs of the sub so the air space is correct. The rest of the console will be like a factory flow through with storage and what not up the the dash.

What about the amp??? Is that installed too??? Might look into three way speakers for front doors,, leave the kenwoods in back doors. rockford is good for sub. Or see if kenwood has some component speakers.

Not yet but 3 ways are already in all 4 doors. I'm just curious on a good sub recommendation for the sub console box I plan to build and a good set of front Components that can handle good power but not break the bank.

Any thoughts? I hear good things about RF. I want to custom mount tweeter for better imaging in the front for sure. And I do plan on sound deadening the doors and rear wall.

Crutchfield recommended this sub due to the small space requirements and good power handling.

Anything crutchfield recommends go with it!!!!!!

Keep the three ways in front door put the two ways in back doors. if you go with components make sure you get ones with a crossover, or just a tweeter find a crossover for them.

I politely disagree. While using their techs for advice and steering is great to get ideas, they are there to sell their products moreso than anything and do not be surprised that the first thing they steer you into is usually something that is super full price. I like using them solely to get input on ideas instead of looking at a sea of electronics or letting their computer filter tell me what does and does not work.

From there I immediately take their advised products, type them into Amazon or Ebay and buy on the gray market pricing. Seriously brand new in box an Alpine Type R 12" sub on Crutchfield is 599.99... Amazon and Ebay brand new in box, both sold from sellers who offer 30 day return or 1 year warranty ranges from 319-336.00 a piece w/ free shipping usually.

Not sure on the amp, I did hear the W1s a few weeks back and they were mildly impressive. While I have yet to hear them, Rockford and Alpine has their Slim models that I've been reading people here are more in favor of.

Now slight side topic but a banner to the left supercrewsound.com makes custom boxes, a few of their boxes actually come w/ the bench lifts installed which give you another 2" or 3" lift to the rear seating. And with a minor boost in height that opens up a whole new realm of options for you to shop with.

use your own judgement

I wasnt saying to buy it,, there are alot of variables that come in to play on these things. Price being one of them,,, figured he new what he wanted to spend on said equip. I cant recommend any one company for equip,,, because its hard to tell how its going to perform in truck/car after its installed. Will say thou sometimes you get what you pay for.

I bought an amp from a site off ebay and ended up sending it back. Then the replacement got sent back. The amp company was mb quart. Ended with a sony radio.
