Post screw amp/sub w/stock cd cngr + 4 spkrs? Help!!!

wanting to put small amp and sub in my new supercrew with stock cd changer/head unit. want to retain signals to original 4 speakers. Is there anyone who knows how to do it, or even if you can? is there a low output tap into the system, or some other method of handling this?? thanks ahead!

Yes, there is a way to put an amp on your current system, attaching it to your high-level speaker leads, then out of the amp to your speakers. Just get you an amp that has inputs for high level such as some of the new Fosgates or several others. If you are intending to drive a sub too, then you'll probably want to get a 5 channel. It may be not as clean or as smooth as using pre=outs but it will work pretty fair. Then later on when and if you add a head unit, you'll be all set for using low-level inputs too. Good luck.

Andrew;
Here are a couple of links that may help:

My sub enclosure is custom built, in the Expy center console. Regardless of where you locate your subwoofer, the wiring should be similar. You can use high-to-low converters (probably) from the rear channels coming off the OEM head unit as the input for a conventional amp (or, as stated above, there may be amps that accept the high/ speaker signal directly) It's a very nice upgrade. Yup, what they said My added recommendation would be have a local sound shop do it. Mine charges very little for such things and does professional work. Often using a few peices from left overs instead of charging you for a new package of some you only need a few of, just a for instance. plus, there was noway i was tearing the dask and doors apart, having never done it in my new truck, maybe you are braver.

I am still using the stock suck A$$ head unit, i'm replacing that last. Every improvement is noticed and appreciated.
