Question Amp. for front speakers, and woofer?

I want to keep my system simple,no 3 or 4 amp chains with a whole network of crossovers, and other stuff. Just looking for 1 amp to run a single 10,and the two front door speakers. I can still run the rears off the head unit, right? I listen primarily to blues, and just want to get a bigger sound with basslines you can feel as well as hear. Any suggestions as to amps to use, model #'s would help
tremendously,,,T I A,,,98

Thumbs up

98,

I think I have just what you need. I have a Soundstream 3 channel amp with built in crossovers. It's brand new in the original box. I was going to do the same thing your talking about, but I decided I had to have an Alpine amp to go with my Alpine deck. Anyway it's stated power is 35 X 2 and 70 X 1, but it is severely underated. The amp is 2 ohm stable for both the stereo and mono portions. It is chrome. It even still has the original price tag of $269.95on the box. I'll take $100.00 plus shipping. Let me know.

You do realize that they make a 5 channel amp that would run all your speakers with plenty of power, there would be no amp chains, but I would crossover your speakers no matter what I do. An Alpine flex 5 is a good cheap amp for what you need.

How soon do you have to sell it,Lok N Load? I have to finish with Christmas, first

Ford4Fun; The back ones sound bad when cranked on just the head unit power, why would I want them louder?
No offense intended, just the truth with a little humor thrown in. They didn't put too much thought into how they sounded,lol,,,,98

I'd like to sell it as soon as possible. When you get done with your holiday shopping your more than welcome to e-mail me to see if I still have it. I don't have it advertised anywhere...it's just word of mouth. Thanks

A four channel amp is great for powering the front pair, with the other 2 bridged for the sub, leaving the rear speakers powered off the HU. This is easiest to do if you have an HU with pre-amp outputs, especially a 'non-fading' sub pre-amp out, so you can adjust the sub independent of the other speakers.

I've got a similar config in my truck and my wife's car. The 5 channel amps are more expensive and much larger, and the rear speakers are really a minor factor in the overall sound.

I got my amp (see sig) on sale from Cruthfield for about $210 and got an Orion with similar power for about the same price for my wife's from Sounddomain. Both have adequate power for most 8" - 10" subs and front components. Huge improvement over stock for mild $.

Would you willing to trade for a Photoshop 5.0 disc? Or do you already have it? Otherwise, the $100 plus shipping is fine,,,,,98
