Dammit, wish I would've seen this before

I would also add that if using the drivers side grommet note that it's fairly close to the exhaust so take measures to ensure that your cabling stays as far clear from it as possible.

So my truck is going in tomorow to get a line converter put in, Im just getting them to do that and Im thinking about running my own power, RCA's and ground through my truck. Ive done it before in three different cars. But when i look at this truck its scary thinking about punching it through the firewall. So i was hoping to run my power wire down the passenger side, since iknow my power wire will be 2 short to run to the driver side. So is there an easy access point on t he driver side?? how hard is it to do, and did you guys have to take out the carpet or what? how did you run the wires through the truck without the wires showing? I was just hoping to run my wires underneath the plastic trim going down the side of the truck underneath the doors? does that work> Im kinda stuck and im gona be doing this tomorow i just dont wana **** my truck up at all..ANyways any help would be awesome like pics or anything, thanks

i found a grommet under the carpet on the passenger side on the floor i ran the power down through it and cut a hole in the rubber grommet to prevent chaffing and ran to the battery along frame rail and over the plastic piece of fender well. buts thats just what i opted to do, all the other options posted in this thread were very helpful as well

Sweet im doin that this afternoon I hope it goes well..Im sure ill figure it out. Im gona check this grommet behind the battery, or hell i might just run it on the outside underneath the truck if i cant figure it out..I did find a big grommet i think its agrommet..Its like 3 inches tall and 6 wide, feels like thin rubber behind the cab passenger side on the back where the box lines up to(SUPERCAB) i dunno what it is, i think its for puttin something in there...I duno not sure tho..Dammit i cant wait to hear bass in my truck how do they sound in f-150's do they rattle alot? I have a 2400 watt premier amplifier, I got for dirt cheap there worth like 700 bucks, i got it for 300 at a store that was closin down..its the best amp ive ever had, and i have a alpine type R on it in car box bassworx, and a capacitor. I was just gona bolt the amp and capacitor on the box.Ya iknow icant afford a truck box right now so im just gona use this setup and put the box behind my drivers side. And its all hookin up to my stock deck i bought a 200 doller line out converter supposively the best you can get, so im hopin it sounds half decent.

where ever u ground it the metal has to be bare. the cb floor, the backwall are both considered the chassis, also a weld point, so whatever is best for u . make sure it is clean and tight, the amp has to have a good ground, it is as important as the power wire

So you can create your own ground in the back wall or cab floor by inserting in a bolt/screw?

Does it need to be a certain type of screw or bolt? Obviously you would have to sand the surface down to bare metal first.
