Polk MOMO C300.2 or Alpine MRP-F600?
Polk MOMO C300.2 or Alpine MRP-F600?
I know the first amp is only a 2 channel and the second is a 4, but I have a question for you all as to which I should go with. The Polk amp is 150W x 2 and the Alpine amp is 100W x 4. Here's what I have in my truck. I just got the Polk MM6501 components for the front doors. I already have a pair of JL 5x7's in the back door just for filler sound. I have a JL 10w1v2 subwoofer mounted downfiring under my rear seat. I had a pair of the original Polk Momo's in my front doors and they are being replaced by the new speakers. I have an Alpine MRP-F200 amp currently underpowering these speakers and my subwoofer. That amp is 40W x 4 or 100W when bridged. So I have 2 channels bridged to power the sub. So here's the question. Should I go with the Polk amp and just provided the power to the new MM6501's and use my current Alpine amp to power the JL speakers and the same bridge to power the sub? Or should I get the new Alpine amp and have it power the new MM6501's and bridge 2 channels for the sub. In this setup I could either use my current amp to power the JL 5x7's or just power them from the head unit as I am currently? Sorry this is such a long question. I'm not into winning competitions or bragging rights, just want really good clean sound. I appreciate any help in advance. I read these forums all the time. Thanks.
Low,
Thanks for the response and no worries on not getting back sooner. Obviously giving free advice to me and my truck is not a life or death situation. I do appreciate you taking the time to help me out. Based on your answer, I'm assuming that in your opinion its more important to give the Polk Speakers the power they need to really shine rather than send more than enough power a sub thats really not all that big anyway? Thanks again.

Oh one more thing Low,
I purchased the amp through Crutchfield and they suggested their wiring kit for $109:

Is this ok? Should I go another route? How's the price? Thanks again for your help.

A little bit overpriced, though. Snag this top-of-the-line 4ga kit from Knukonceptz for $58.99... better wire and comes with more stuff, it's top notch

jrfonte,
you got it. right now, i'm at the point of having my entire truck stripped down and hoping I can pull off this whole self install thing. I figure at the least, if I can't I should be able to talk a shop into some cheap labor since I've done all the grunt work. But I will let you know how they sound as soon as I get them going.
