Power cable pictures

Can you guys post pics of where and how your power cables are run to the amps in a NBS? I am going to do the install myself but I just want to gather in the knowledge first.

Thanks!

Down behind back of battery to grommet in R.PKP. Many mounts that work perfect to run wire through.

I ran mine under the truck. I've looked at the firewall on my 04 and didn't see anything on the passengers side that was big enough for 0/1 gauge. Of course going under the truck was easier that pulling that fat cable through the firewall and routing it neatly inside the truck. Going under and back through the floor sill plates was really easy.

Here's where mine comes back into the truck:

and routed under the truck:

Thats the way I would recommend, but I also use the first body mount. It works a bit better on keeping the cable tight.

Honestly take my word on this one. It works well going that way. Ive fought many other installers about this but after they try it 99% will agree. I also use a few 11" zipties as well for safety sake...

The wire sleeve I'm using is really tough. I bought it from mcmaster.com it's made for extreme conditions and lots of abrasion. I doubled it up so it's pretty well secured. Also triple fused for protection against any possible shorts.

I don't have to take your word for it , I've been running my power wire outside the vehicle for 15 years or my last 5 vehicles . I simply said , I don't like how the wire is not secured or the loom he's using . I guess from my extensive competition background , I'm used to doing things the right way or the way Iasca , Meca & Usaci require . If you notice my truck , The 2 1/0 guage wires are run in non metalized , flexible plastic(outdoor) conduit . They are also secured to the frame every 18" using steel clamps that are fully wrapped with rubber(any hardware store). He said he's using zip ties for safety, but I don't see any in his picture . Securing 1/0 guage wire that is run ouside a vehicle , with zip ties is not the best option .

No, I said I do. I will run through the same path but will take a 11" ziptie (the ones they handcuff people with. STRONG AS HELL 50-60lbs.) and tie the wire to the chassis.

Thats a good idea with the conduit. I may be giving that a shot.

And I work at CCity, Im allowed to mess chit up. Thats part of being a big box installer... (Joking)

And where you live , you'll probably never have a problem doing it that way . But where I live , there are times your driving through 2-3 feet of Snow . Snow and Ice pack up inside(from the tires) right where that wire is ran . I guess you can never be to carefull .Heres a trivia question for you Low . why do I have 2 1/0 guage wires running from the battery to the rear of the truck ?

I use carflex plastic flex conduit .. under the vehicle and run a circuit breaker off the battery, and a fuse block at the end of the wire befor the block and amp.. I ran 6 guage for this amp install .. Its just a 150 watt mono on one 10 inch sub .. I may also hook up my pioneer amp to my HU but its only 10 watts rms over what the pioneer HU puts out, so not a big difference..

The cable I ran isn't going any where, but I do love that conduit! looks like any other hose under the truck. I might do that this coming spring when I do my rebuild.

Because you have a few Mitek amps powering a few RF P312's and some (POS ) Pioneer components with tweets up in the A-pillars...

Is that the best you can do ? Working in the industry , it should be easy for someone like you to figure out . After all , i've seen hundreds of vehicles with 3-4 amps and 4-5 subs , powered by one 1/0 guage wire from the battery .
