This worries me a little bit, can't the output be adjusted? I want them to play loud of course but not stupid ridiculous max volume.

dont freak out about it. ask low_e_red about it. pretty much everybody overpowers their speakers.
and really all it means is dont crank it up all the way. if you don't need rattling bass, you probably wont be doing that anyway, so its nothing to worry about.
besides, most good manufactures underrate their products, so even if you were to blast the amp, you probably wouldnt be hurting your speakers very much, if at all

Alright, thanks for all your help!

Will the 8GA Knukonceptz KLM kit work okay? Or should I grab a 4 GA kit?

And how would I go about wiring these with the 9103?

i would say go 4 gauge, but im not an expert on wiring. you can always try the eight and see how it is, then upgrade if you really need it

for the subs, check this

Since they are 8ohm VC's they can just be wired to the amp directly pos to pos, neg to neg. Its a 1channel with dual terminals (for ease of wiring). That amp will work fine since it will only be putting out 500W @ 4ohms.

P.S. Its better to slightly overpower than under. 5-15% is what I prefer. 25% is cool too, as long as you keep alert for signs of distress and take the appropriate measures when it occurs. (AKA TURN THE VOLUME THE ******* DOWN!)

Yeah I think it'll be alright...

Hey, if I blow them up, it's not a huge deal - just more reason to upgrade They are $90 subs new it's not the end of the world.

Okay theoretically let's say I get $350-$400 in the next week for an amp...can I do much better than the Kenwood 9103 for that? If nothing else I will be getting better wiring...but I have some unexpected money coming in now.

Done!

Got the Alpine V-Power MRP-M650 for $120 used, it hits pretty good!

P.S. Knukoncepts wires kick ***.

I have to hide all that stuff but that's pretty much it.

Thanks everybody for your help and especially C. Whammy!

Hey C.Whammy....

You said
pretty much everybody overpowers their speakers
You think ?

IMPO, people underpower them more often, than overpower them, which is because speakers are relatively cheap, compared to good power.... and I think this is especially true when you start to get into multiple (like 4, 6, or more) sub woofers, or pro-series subs, which require TONS of expensive power to push to their fullest potential.

I do believe its better to have 500 watts available, and only need 300, than to have 300 available, and need 500 :-)

Peace,
Fish
