proper way to install capacitor
Thanks midget. So from looking at that diagram, I need to 4 gauge cables and 2 negatives? That's what I thought. Also, can i run both negative cables one from the cap and the other from the amp and connect them both to the same location? Or can I just have only one and run it from the amp to the negative terminal on the cap?
Thanks
Thanks

you have already said you are using 4 guage wire-keep it all the same power and ground is 4 gauge
run the power wire from your battery to your cap, then from your cap to the amp. The cap stores power and goes "inline" of the power wire. run a ground wire from the cap to ground, also run ground from your amp to ground (you can use same ground location for your amp and cap, but do not run ground from your amp to your cap)
And remember-once that cap is charged it is storing energy-so do not touch the positive and negatives together (treat it as a hot circuit), it does have voltage in it and can shock you- although it may not be big shock it could ground out the cap and render it useless

I dont blame you.
I got pissed when I got zapped with a .5 mF cap not to long ago

9V off a non-spike suppression relay....?
Ive gotten people with that.. ITS FUN!!!But he charged it at 16V then right to the tongue. Not a shock or anything. Had I not been there watching it, I wouldnt have believed it.
