I've had several different amps mounted behind the seat (what can I say, I get bored easily) and I haven't had any overheating problems yet. They do get hot, but I wouldn't say they get excessively hot. The amps I've had back there have been Alpine V12s, Alpine PDX and Arc Audio. Dunno if that helps or not.
