how to bridge a amp properly

i have a 2 ch 1200 watt sony xplod amp, i was wondering how to bridge it, some people have both positive terminals hooked up, and others have a negative and positive hooked up, and others have the pos and neg hooked up and a wire connecting the other ops and neg terminals.
thanks

Did it come w/ a manual?

As mentioned - it should be stenciled on the amp, but typically it's the + output of one speaker and the - output of the other.

Assuming it's the Sony XM-2002GTR amp that you are talking about, Crutchfield has a manual you can download if you don't have yours. It looks like to bridge it, you would use the 1st pos terminal on the left and the third terminal from the left for the neg connection.

on most amps, if all 4 speaker terminals are right next to each other, its the furthest terminal to the left and the furthest one to the right that you want to use. One will be + and one will be -. look in your manual it should tell you. Also make sure to watch your impedances. Even if an Amp is capable at 1 or 2 ohms in regular channel form, they might only be 4 Ohm in bridged mode...
