I read somewhere in a forum that some people were mounting their amps behind the dash on the passanger side. Behind the big flat panel that faces you if your sitting in the pass seat. Now as to how much room is in there, I dont know. So I have no idea how big of an amp you can put in there, or how much ventilation there is.
Just my .02. Can I have some change back

5 channel amp and get rid of the old one

hey im new here, just picked up myself a 04 screw, long time waiting. i put an eclispe 5 channel amp under my passenger seat. powers my two jl 10s in custom box flush mounted under the rear bench. the amp is connected to my two tens through the sub output and all my doors are connected to the other 4 channels. sounds f-in great. my buddy put some kicker speakers in his with no amp and it doesnt even compare to my new sound quality!! ps im using the stock 6 disc player. and the tens hit great, already had a few complaints by the nieghbors haha

5 channel amp and get rid of the old one

forgot one thing... all amps need to have air flow, i used to work at an audio shop. doesnt matter if they have internal fans or not. my eclipse has one built in. i bought the truck in temecula and live in lake havasu. installed the system 20 minutes after the purchase. on the drive home it still shut off because it over heated and its under the rear seat with plenty of air flow and an internal fan. if u know anything about car audio, eclipse is at the top of the list for subs and amps. i was 3.5 hours into the 4 hour drive when it shut off. i got home and when to radio shack, bought two mini fans 3.5 inches big and set them next to the amp, no problems since. hope this helps

Ive got a JL Audio 500/5 behind the seat of my '06 Screw (even has power sliding rear and associated mess mounted to cab wall) mounted on a board on the pass.side with crossovers on the driver side of the back wall. NO overheating probs at all. Been running her hard for about 6 months now. Good luck

IROC, awesome post. I've been all over the threads trying to put together the big picture. You nailed it all in one post. I am going to do an install after Christmas, and I will have my laptop at my side for reference. Thanks boss.
