Maybe Im totally wrong about that, but thats just my take. I seem to hear quite a few storys about amps over heating under the seats, but none when they are on the back wall......leads me to believe its a much better place .
YES!!! And, there is like 6" of space between the amp and seat. (if not more.) There's enough space for a filled backpack to fit, so an amp has plentyof space to breathe. Not to mention the fact that I aim the passenger air vents towards the middle of the cab (to keep me cooler) and this provides more moving air around the amp. And the hot air from the amp (if any) has a lot of places to go other than staying on the amp as in an under-seat mount.

Well my truck is an ex. cab, so the back of the seat bolts on the back wall... but i think there might be room back there but i did not think there would be much because it would tight i would think....but i just dont know how much air really moves around back there......

My truck is a 99 ext cab, so its practically identical to yours. I havent had a problem, however getting them to fit back there was a little bit of a problem. I had to cut some bracing off of the back of the seat (you will know what Im talking about when you take the seat back off) And I also had to put some spacers between the seat backs bottom mounting tabs, and back wall of the cab. You can see the spacers in my gallery, I dont believe I have a pic of the trimming on the brace I had to do though.
