amp mounting ??

Hey, how can I mount my amp under my driver's seat w/o drilling into the cab? I would like to do something secure, but if @ all possible, I'd like to avoid cutting holes...

Thanks in advance for the advice.

Industrial strength, really wide strips of velcro maybe? I have used them before in tight spots without any problems.

Velcro should work nicely.

Ive used very coarse threaded screws before, and screwed them down into the carpet and padding, but not through the floor. Held pretty good, even with the way I drive. And when you take them out, youd never know there was a screw through the carpet there.

Sweet. Thanks.

Seeing as I have the rubber floors (yeah, they're real nice to clean as compared to my Dad's F-250 with carpet), I'll probably go w/ the velcro, which I conveniently forgot that I had.

Thanks again.

My amp is under drivers seat in reg cab. It overheats in hour is it hard for it to breath, should I mount it somewhere else? Because bass boost is flat and gain is not even halfway........

Id try mounting a fan beside it to get some air moving over the heatsink, or else yes, mount it somewhere else.

Company told me as long as its inch under something it should be fine. Where should I place it on box, under pass seat? What wire is sticking up from under drivers seat?

If it overheats under the drivers side it will probably do the same on the passengers. Try the back wall of the cab possibly.

Wouldnt that cause vibration just like if it was mounted on box?

Well, I tried to do it myseld, but gave up and took it to Best Buy, and they installed with nice wires, and they warantee their work for a lifetime, which is better than I can do. Ended up un the back wall, as it was too big for under the seat. (it is, after all, a 600W amp)

But, thanks for your help.

BTW, if you all are considering buying an amp, get much more power than needed... my amp sounds great and NEVER gets hot at the levels I'm running it.

Good advice, but sometimes bigger watt amps are significantly more money.
Heh ive got a 1200w amp to push 2 12's and it never overheats in my truck even during the summer when the interior gets up to and over 120*F But then again i have it mounted ontop of my box, and it gets really good ventilation. The amp used to be in the back of my friends SS camaro and everynow and then it would overheat if it was not getting good air flow.

Would'ent it over heat more on the back wall then it would under the drivers seat. Because there's the back of the seat covering the back wall ....???

I believe there is actually more air movement on the back wall than under the seat. When its under the seat, all that rising heat has no where to go because of the seat, it pretty much just lingers around under there. When its on the back wall, the hot air can actually rise up, and out, between the seat and cab wall. Plus, under the seat its 'boxed in' fairly close on about all sides.

Maybe Im totally wrong about that, but thats just my take. I seem to hear quite a few storys about amps over heating under the seats, but none when they are on the back wall......leads me to believe its a much better place .
