Bluecruise

Hi, just joined the forum.

Picked up my new 2024 Platinum yesterday. Tried out Bluecruise during the 1 hour drive home. Underwhelmed. It was raining. Engaged Bluecruise and it kept telling me to put my hands on the steering wheel. When I did so it still kept giving me this warning for about 10-20 seconds until I gripped the steering wheel very tightly.

Then the warning finally disappeared. After multiple repeats of this, it finally said “Handsfree”. Worked for awhile, then when I approached a mild curve (all of this was when I was on Interstate 5 in Washington), it gave me a “Resume Control" warning and disconnected itself. So I had to reconnect it.

Also I noticed that when it was engaged it didn’t hold exactly to the center of the lane. It would drift back and forth a little. And one time I actually had to grab the wheel as it was starting to cross the white stripped lane line.

I watched the video on the Ford App, and it did say that you first have to engage it with your hands on the wheel, and that it might not work in weather conditions that reduce visibility. As I mentioned, it was raining, but not a downpour/torrent, etc.

Anyone else with these issues? I paid a good hunk of change for this for a three year subscription. Not impressed. Observations/suggestions anyone?

(BTW, I’m selling my 2018 loaded Lariat if anyone looking. https://post.craigslist.org/manage/7...lay&go=display )

Hi again WingVette! You can see my take on Bluecruise in the other thread that you posted in. My subscription to Bluecruise was only for 3 months and I did not renew it. I don't see the point of having "hands-free" driving if you have to pay so much attention to the road and traffic. Self driving vehicles will probably be a reality in the future, but they have a long way to go to become acceptable to me.

Agree. It was a waste of money.
