OK. here's my new truck - a 2024 Platinum. It is much more "understated", I think than the old 2014 was. Not much on the exterior to tell you it's a Platinum, except that name on the side vents and lettering on the tailgate. Gone is all the brushed aluminum and chrome that earlier Platinums had. You can still get this with the Platinum Plus option, but I didn't really want that.
Some may question why anyone would pay so much for a pickup truck and here is my reasoning:
1. I spend a significant amount of time in a vehicle, so I might as well enjoy it and look forward to the experience.
2. I can afford it.
3. It is still able to do what I need a truck for - hauling and towing my travel trailer.
Very clean lines - nice DRL design in my opinion. The side vents are functional. The hood vents are not. Love the Pro-Access tailgate. It is great if I have my trailer hooked up and makes for easier access to the rear of the bed. I wish the Moon Roof was a "delete option". This is one option I don't really want or use.
Thanks, guys! It's a pleasure to drive too. Lots of power and VERY comfortable. I'm doing little things to it now. Making a cargo keeper that will hold items near the tailgate, rather than letting them slide to the front of the bed. It's modeled after one I've seen online that sells for about $200, but mine will cost about $70, using sheet ABS and some aluminum angles. It has a bit more storage in the cab too, compared to my old 2014. The new Sync 4 system is great, especially compared to the Sync 2 that came in the 2014.

Your truck looks awesome, Jack! Thanks for sharing these photos with the forum. We hope you are enjoying your F-150 to the fullest!
Thanks guys, I've added rear wheel well liners since I posted the pictures. Makes the rear wheel wells look black like the front ones. I'll have to take some new pictures sometime, but I'm pretty much finished with work on it for the near future. Going to go camping for the next week, so will be pulling my trailer for the first time with it.
I just took delivery of the exact same truck. Platinum, same year and color. Scored a great deal. $1,000 under invoice minus another $615 Ford rebate.
Drove it home an hour from the dealer yesterday, and wasn’t too impressed at all with Bluecruise. See my entry in this section titiled “Bluecruise”. This was an expensive option. Doubt I’ll renew the subscription after three years. Would appreciate any Bluecruise comments on that thread.
I agree with your philosophy. This may be the last truck I’ll ever buy, and I want to spend my time in a vehicle that I really enjoy. I don’t find the technology intimidating at all. Just take some time to set in it and learn everything. It’s pretty intuitive IMHO.
Hi WingVette - welcome to the forum and congrats on your new truck! I don't like the idea of Bluecruise either. I will not reactivate it when it expires. My complaint with it is that it requires the driver to pay close attention to the road and traffic while allowing the truck to drive "hands-free". This seems pointless to me. If a vehicle is going to be self-driving, I want to be able to go to sleep or read a book or do anything besides be a safety observer for the vehicle. Since I have to give it so much attention, I'd just as soon be steering the thing myself. I've also disabled the active "lane centering" feature because it wants to put the truck too close to the lane on my left for my liking. I still have the steering wheel vibration that occurs if I drift out of my lane. Additionally, while the automatic speed control feature that maintains speed according to the speed limit signs it sees is nice, I've disabled it too, because it slows the truck at curves unnecessarily. The truck still flashes the speed limit sign in the HUD and on the dash if I'm faster than the posted speed for a few seconds, so I'm still warned to slow down if I want to.
I really like the 360 degree camera views when maneuvering in and out of tight spots, and when working with a trailer.
The truck was an absolute pleasure to drive with my trailer on my recent camping trip. Plenty of power, good gas mileage and super comfortable on the road.
