People who buy limiteds don't mod them... they drive up to stop lights and ask other people with limiteds to borrow some grey poupon...

Pete I can assure you they are two different posters. I checked IP addresses

This is the Internet, sometimes requires thick skin. As long as we aren't derogatory name calling I see no harm with a little jab here and there.

And, Pete, if you can afford a "boutique" truck and enjoy the feeling of luxury as do I, just ignore the envious posts. It's your money and your butt in the thing, have fun driving it.

Regarding your request for mods though, there aren't a whole lot of things I could think of on a truck that well equipped. I DID put Husky Floorliners in mine, to protect the carpet, and have a Dashmat coming (it reduces glare off the top of the dashboard. I made a "divider" for the center console to organize things better and it works well. Of course you can see my bed cap (needed for camping) and I Line-X'd the bed. I had paint protection film applied to the entire front end, and under the door handles and along the door edges. Then, I applied paint protection film to the door sills myself.

I also tinted my front windows to 35% (I need to update my signature pic).

Jealous......NO. I just never understood the "Work and live to make the truck payments" mentality.
Buying a $50,000 loaded Limited pickup and then make additional mods to it.......
On such an expensive truck, getting a door ding would be traumatic.

I agree with crazynip. No mods on Limiteds. What's the point? It's a Limited.

Can anyone explain Ford's logic on the their models. If you look at the Expedition the the line up goes XLT, Limited, KR, Platinum, with Els thrown in between. The F150 on the other hand goes XL. XLT, Lariat, Raptor, KR, Platinum, and Limited. You would think they use the same trim levels/ price point across the lineups.
As far as hating on the Limited buyers, oh well, if you can afford it do it. I never thought I would spend what I did on my Expd EL, but I did and now I have a set of Rancho quicklifts sitting the garage for it, and I am looking for a set of first edition Raptor 17s to replace eth 20s it came with.

Beautiful truck, love the color.. Congrats!

You already have the power steps and all the goodies so it's tough to find something . If it were mine I'd get a good quality tonneau cover, a Bedrug or LineX if the bed is unprotected, lightly tint the front door glass 35 or 20% depending on where you live and a Covercraft sunscreen to protect the gorgeous interior.. Other than that.. Enjoy it!

If someone wants a nice new F150 5.0/4x4 crew cab why not this? It's nicely optioned but I guess leather heated/cooled seats are essential to some. I just don't understand the "The more I pay for a vehicle the better I feel" nonsense. Maybe a couple of posters are mad at me because I am more responsible with money than most.
The country almost went over the cliff during the Bush administration and is still close to the ledge so why take a chance on a $50,000 ride in this time of uncertainty?

If you don't need a 4x4 and don't tow more than 5000 lbs this truck makes excellent financial sense.

Pete - I forgot about a few other "mods" I put on my truck - mudflaps and protection against opening the hood and swiping the tailgate. I got my mudflaps from WeatherTech - they are "no drill", went on fairly easily and fit perfectly. They reduce the mud and dirt that gets blown up on the lower part of the truck's body.

I got the Hood Latch Guard and Gate Keeper from Jimmi' Jammer. The hood protection makes it hard to open the hood by tripping the latch from outside and the Gate Keeper keeps the tailgate from being lifted off unless the thief has the correct star bit and a fairly big wrench.

I also bought and installed a storage bin that fits under the rear seat. It holds things like my jumper cables, cargo tie-downs, tools and so on.

Paul - I understand what you're saying, but the pleasure I derive from the luxury elements in my truck make them all worth it to me. And, I don't have truck payments, since I paid it off in four months. Yes, a ding on my truck would be traumatic, but I'm a careful driver and I know how to keep a vehicle in "like-new" condition.

- Jack
