Hey Pete, just got bought my black 16 in October and have done a few minor things; first was to change the Fogs and License Plate lights to LEDs, not sure why Ford didn't do this from the factory, next I added the Backflip MX4 which is a nice cover and easy to install, and because I was a bit on the fence between the handling of the new Sierra Denali versus the F150 Limited. I felt the Denali handled corners and rough patches better, but felt the F150 just had so much more tech and options than the Denali, and with my auto mechanic background I knew I could take care of minor handling issues with a few extra $$. I added the Hellwig rear sway bar and it immediately reduced the way the rear bunny hops and sways around corners. Next will be some better rear shocks (maybe FOX), then maybe a tune next year after it breaks in a bit. But I am enjoying my new truck! Traded in a 2013 Corvette Grand Sport and the only thing I'm missing is the Corvette Wave that all Corvette owners share with each other. Tried waving at a few F150 guys and get that Who the Hell are You stare...

Question: Are those chrome wheels true chrome or chrome clad? The ones on my Expedition are chrome clad and I am not super impressed. If I decide to stay with 20s, I may take a look at some newer factory wheels if they are chrome and not chrome clad.

Personally, I'm not a fan of any kind of chrome plating (dipped or "clad"). My experience with chrome over my almost 60 years of driving is that it NEVER holds up.

I can't stand the "pitted" look chrome plating gets and my experience with chrome on plastic is that it begins to separate over time.

I'm glad my wheels are aluminum. They're pretty easy to repair if they ever get scratched (I've done that kind of repair myself).

From the picture, Pete, your wheels look like coated aluminum to me. Mine certainly are.

$50k for a limited? I don't think so. I paid more than that for my Lariat. I say mod the hell out of it. If I wanted to pay for a limited I'd be doing all the same stuff I'm doing to my Lariat.

Before you go ham with mods you should ask yourself what do you want your truck to do and then plan to make it happen.

Do you want it to handle better? The factory shocks are meh at best, change them out for something better. Put a sway bar on the rear if you want it to be more planted in a turn. The factory brakes are big enough to stop the truck very well but the pads and rotors suck. Change them out when you can, it will be worth it. I don't know if the later trucks are better but the early Ecoboosts had horrible throttle response. Bad enough that people complained about turbo lag. The trans shifting wasn't much better. A set of custom tunes really wakes this engine up and makes them drive better.

It's all about what you want.

Scorpion Tires

I think the Limited's are just about perfect the way that they are. With that being said, I did not like the Scorpions when they were installed on my truck. The first 15k were ok, but after that, they caused my teeth to chatter.

When I get my 2018, I will be switching to good ole Bridgestone Duelers.

Other than the bed cover, the only mod I did to my 2014 Limited was installed a complete Raptor exhaust system with OEM Harley Davidson chrome tips.

I'm looking at either a new Platinum or Limited myself.
The short mod list so far:
2/4ish drop
New wheels and tires
Hellwig sway bars front and rear
QA1 shocks
Magnaflow cat back
S&B intake
Innovative tune

I like a little sporty to go with my luxury trucks.
