Air compressor mounting location

Hi i have 2015 supercrew 3.5 ecoboost 157 wb i just purchased the air lift wireless compressor with firestone bags has anyone installed this setup yet im having trouble finding a place to mount the compressor under the hood is not possible was thinking in the bed under my tonneau but dont want to punch holes through the bed for the air lines any suggestions

I put mine on the frame just after the cab in the driver's side. They say it's water proof, we'll see.

I was thinking of putting it inside a small toolbox then mounting the box to the frame i live in michigan winter time salt sucks just trying to protect my investment

I was trying to think of a way to protect it as well. That should work. Maybe I'll look for a box now!

Would a heavy gauge plastic or fiberglass type box work? Seems there are some made for irrigation controls that are subject to the elements that might be about the right size and designed to be waterproof and resist the salt.

That would probably work better than metal since it won't rust. Put a small hole in the bottom for any water/condensation to drip out.

Was definitely going to use plastic found a craftsman that is 13x5x5 and pretty thick material i measured the outside of frame on pass side it will fit and still be able to open for maintenance just have to find time the bags should be here tomorrow according to ups im gonna tackle it tomorrow ill post some pics

What ive done so far have to go to autozone to get a micro fuse tap the 2 taps that airlift sends won't work on the micro fuses

This is a pita cant figure out how to run the wires up to the fuse box theres no hole in the firewall

I cut the wire ties off the grommet just under the brake booster and ran them through there. It is tight and has a slight bend in it so it took two of us. One inside the cab to push the fish tape through and me on the outside to help guide it.


Once ran I put new ties on.

I already ran the wires up the pass side because the fuse box is on that side theres a empty grommet at the bottom of the firewall i shoved the wires theough probably 2ft worth and cant find it on the inside im stumped and beat been at this for 5 hrs now

Install complete found a grommet on pass side where power running boards wires go through





Mounted custom compressor box above rear axle on crossmember
