Brand New 2015 XLT - accessory opinons?
I just picked up my new 2015 (Supercab, XLT, FX4), and am now in the market to "accessorize". I'm interested in getting the bed spayed, a Tourneau top, mud flaps, bug shield and that's about it.
Suggestions on the bed liner? It seems that Line-X has a pretty strong following - but are there others out there just as good?
My 2004 had the Truxedo soft cover, so I'm interested in getting that once again - are they easy to self install?
I'm also interested for opinions around rear wheel well inserts - do they help with corrosion?
Thanks!

I personally hate all the spray-in bedliners because they are very abrasive. IE: they will TEAR skin right off.
I prefer the rubber bed mats.
Depends what kind of stuff you are throwing in the bed of your truck, if anything.
Most of you never put anything more than a cooler back there, so the mat should be fine. I go camping a LOT and am in and out of the bed, and had a spray in liner once, and hated it, got too many skinned up knees and legs.

I installed a Patriot hardshell paint match tonneau cover. Pricey but it's nice. I also had it Line-x'ed. I had a Rhino lining in my other truck and liked it. The line-x one also seems to do the trick. I hoped to get away with nothing but a sheet of plywood will make scratch lines down the bed of the truck when you slide it in. Everything leaves scratches down to the primer.
I added a few aftermarket and OEM products to my 2015 F150 that you might consider; all great products, which provide function and protection.
1. 3M shield to front hood, grill, bumper, and door edges. Much better protection than bug shields, which imo are passé.
2. Stubby antenna from CravenSpeed.
3. WeatherTech floor liners.
4. Fold-a-Cover tonneau.
5. Damper Asy (Tail gate assist) from Ford; part #FL3Z-99406A10-A
6. Line-X bed liner...best in the business imo.
7. Ford OEM mud guards...in process.

I have the ford trifold bed cover. I like it but the weather stripping is falling off, going to take that up with the dealer.
I want the real wheel well liners from Ford but might not. Just might ask the carwash guys to stay on top of it, nothing says well maintaned like shinny wheelwells.

So far my upgrades I deemed 100% necessary have been-
Line x platinum bed liner. 780$ out the door
BF Goodrich KO2 275 70r18 tires. The stock tires are junk if you work or go Offroad very often.
Rancho quick lifts are on order, I think the front end is too low and want more clearance.
That's more or less where I am at right now, I don't plan on doing a whole lot of extra mods, been there done that and don't want to go there again with a highly modified truck.
I personally really like the line x, I don't tend to crawl around on my hands and knees in the bed, I use it for tools, building supplies, etc and it is the best liner available. That's my 2 cents

BedTred Pro Series bed liner from BedRug. This has been the best liner I've ever had. Super tough but soft enough to kneel on.

Truxedo LowPro Tonneau cover. It has been great and still looks like brand new after 7 years. I treat it twice a year with 303. Has never leaked even a drop of water.

Wheel well liners (rear) - it's such a disservice that these trucks don't come with them. When I walk through a parking lot every single car has them. I bought a pair of Husky (I think) when they first came out and very happy with them. With the nasty slop (mix of sand/salt) they put on the roads here they are a must. I see now they are finally an option on the new trucks at least......but for $180 (?)

I think these are some good choices and some of the first I did
1) LineX spray in
2) Husky X-Act Countour Matts (front/back)
3) Husky rear under seat storage bin
4) Weathertech vent visors
5) Husky Mud Flaps
6) Husky Rear wheel well liner
7) Then you can go nuts with LED lighting (headlights, off-road lights, replacement bulbs, etc...)
That's kind of what I did.
Let me know if you need pricing on Husky/Weathertech equipment. I offer some of the lowest prices (but you have to PM me your truck style/etc...) and of course lighting is available on my site.
#1 through #6 though are def. some of THE items MOST of us have done. They seem to be the most popular things done.

My truck came with factory spray in liner otherwise I would have put Line-X in. Neither the Ford or the Line-X was all that abrasive. I think it depends on the dealer and the setting or way they spray it.
Husky floor mats and front window tint were first things I did.

RE the bedliner: Often licensee agreements and franchise deals fall apart and the shop will keep selling one name but installing a different product. This has a lot to do with the wildly different reports on different brands. I suggest looking at the actual product being installed at the shop you are considering, and also the specific shop's installation quality. Don't go by just the sign hanging on the wall. You will also want to verify the shop is an authorized dealer for which ever brand they tell you that you are getting.

I know that I'm late to the game OP but have you looked at the BAK Revolver X2?
I recently installed it on my XLT and absolutely love it. And I got it for way less $$ than the manufacturer deals too...
Also, the first mod on the new truck was a stubby antenna, then Rough Country liners, and now the Revolver.
Best of luck! Can't wait to see the pictures!
