Is Ford trying to get us to buy a Dodge Hemi? Excuse me, RAM Hemi?

No thanks! As BMW owner/enthusiasts, I have noticed the new models which start up as they pull off stop lights. Im sorry but putting my system through ongoing starts, and acceleration while oil pressure builds is not worth any gained fuel mileage to me. Id rather drive a hybrid, which is not ever going to happen either.

Yeah I would rather drive a hybrid. Hope this feature can be turned off permanent when the trucks get a little older and dont start so quickly.

I know someone with a 2015 BMW 3 series, and I can tell you that they DO NOT like it, and it's hella annoying to me, even as a passenger.

It's going to be hell on starters too.

It's all for the epa mileage ratings. Mfgs. don't have to replace starters and batteries. All for the almighty fuel ratings. I would pay extra for permanent disable feature.

Stop / Start

I have noticed on my 2015, I can easily control the stop / start feature each time I get to a red light by how much pressure I place on the brake pedal. If I come up to a light that looks like it will be turning green soon I apply just enough pressure on the brakes to keep it stopped and the engine stays on. Heavier pressure on the brake pedal activates the stop mode when it looks like it will be beneficial to use it. This gives me better control over each situation.

Yep, I'd take a RAM Hemi over a 2.7 ecoboost with start/stop ever time.

Ford should not design a truck for my tastes because I'm retired and may not ever buy another truck. I loved my 95 Mark VIII. But when my it got a lot of miles on it and I started looking for a replacement car that had a V8 with RWD, preferably independent rear suspension, Ford didn't make anything that came close. So, I bought a Dodge Magnum with the Hemi V8. It has independent suspension in the rear with RWD. I'm very happy with it.

1 1/2 years ago when my wife wanted a new car we were looking for a RWD small SUV / Crossover. So, we bought an Infiniti. My wife didn't care about RWD when we bought the car but after driving it a while said she never wanted another FWD car due to the difference in steering around corners. I'm fairly neutral when it comes to brands. I buy the car, not the name. And I would not ever buy a vehicle that has the stop/start feature.

You do realize you can turn that feature off, right?

My wife has a Jeep Cherokee with start and stop. What a joke. Always a slight hesitation on acceleration and an annoying clunk. Fortunately the have an over ride button. Ford shouldn't waste they time and effort.

Do you have to turn it off every time you start the vehicle?

Yep everytime. It comes on automatically as soon as you start engine. Probably a good feature if you live in Europe. LOL

The truck you have pictured is also going to have more HP and torque than the 6.2L. We don't want to go to "the blog" to read spam.
Truck guys don't care about start stop and eco crap. Think before you post for "the blog"!
