All 2017 EcoBoost Ford F-150s to Get Auto Start-Stop Technology
No thanks! As BMW owner/enthusiasts, I have noticed the new models which start up as they pull off stop lights. Im sorry but putting my system through ongoing starts, and acceleration while oil pressure builds is not worth any gained fuel mileage to me. Id rather drive a hybrid, which is not ever going to happen either.
This will disable it:
It fools the computer into thinking a trailer is connected. It can also be turned off with a programmer and custom tunes.

After living with auto stop/start on our 2016 for almost 2 months I've gone from a not-so-much fan to it's pretty OK based on my daily work commute. There are a few times it shuts off and I'm not thinking it was the best choice, but it can't see the traffic lights. And, on the 16's there is an over-ride button good for your current running session.
In Chicago and rush hour, I may have a different opinion. But here in Milwaukee, with my commute and route, I have to believe it's eeeking out a bit more mileage as a result. Fuel is cheap now, but it will not be forever. Going from 12-14mpg to 19+ with very little inconvenience isn't such a bad thing.

No way I believe that statement of fuel economy improvement just from start/stop. Where did you get it from?
I took it to mean that his previous vehicle was 12-14 and he's getting 19 with this new one.
Has anyone installed an accusump with a slow release valve? This would completely eliminate added bearing wear from repeated shutdowns.
EDIT: Those with this feature, what does your oil gage do during a shutdown. Is it defeated by the electronics?
