Factory Hard Tonneau Cover

OK, I haven't taken delivery of my 2015 Scab w/6.5 bed that I ordered (still chomping at the bit waiting for it to be built). I did order the Ford accessory hard tonneau cover. What can I expect as I didn't really do any research on the Ford brand versus aftermarket. Do people like it? Did I make a mistake? Does it easily remove or fold to the front to take advantage of the bed space? And does anyone know if the factory installs it or if it's installed a the dealer? Sorry for all the questions.

I may be mistaken but I believe the new ones are made for Ford by Undercover. You could try looking at the Ford accessories website.

I looked at the Ford top when I bought mine a year ago. It is an Undercover product. The main reason I didn't buy one was the lock was on the top of the cover. All I could see was rain and dirt in the mech so I didn't buy it. I did buy an A R E LSII and I wished I had bought the Ford top. Mine is a fading to yellow White top. The lock mech on it is about as flimsy as it gets and won't keep out an honest person. Frankly, it's so Mickey Mouse there's no need to ever lock it. You can open it locked by mistake and not even know it. The Ford top was about 300 bucks cheaper than the LSII. If you bought the Ford cap, you bought the better cap. Yes, the Ford cap is removable and no drilling required.

Ok - did a little deeper research. Factory hard cover is made by Advantage, not Undercover. It sits on top of the bed rails. The one I really want sits between the bed rails and is a Ford Accessory made by Rev....crap. My truck is scheduled to be built next week. Does anybody think I can have the dealer submit a delete this late in the process or will I have to try and negotiate a cover swap at the dealer once my truck comes in? Any experiences out there?

Got mine at the dealer and it is a Bakflip G2 with a Ford logo on it. Great cover.

the dealer told me that waiting on their cover will delay my truck, they asked me to pick one out that they can order so I picked the Bakflip F1.....Love it.

Update everyone. Got my new truck, ordered the Ford version of the bakflip G2 through the dealer. Had it in my possession two days after I ordered it. The only difference is the Ford logo in place of the bakflip logo. Installed it myself in about an hour. Couldn't be happier.

Yeah I am curious what the Ford one cost too.

Can you put any weight on top of these back flip covers? Such as like someone sitting on it who isnt a complete fat ***, or stepping on it on occasion like someone at the carwash trying to clean the roof.

I have the Bakflip F1 and love it! I think they say it can hold around 400 pounds on top. I don't think I want to try it but it's pretty solid! I had the undercover tonneau on my 05 and this one is much more functional! It's not only secure but gives you full access to your bed if you need it!!

I mounted my bike on top of my cover. I realize it's not as heavy as a person but I do drive with it up there, and the cover handles it just fine.

Hi Patman. I ordered through a local Ford dealer that sells wholesale volume online but since I'm close, I didn't have to pay shipping...I just picked it up at the dealer. That being said, MSRP is $1099.00, wholesale cost without shipping was $857.22, and then I got another discount because I'm a Ford retiree. That knocked another $100.00 plus off. I also ordered a rubber bed mat also. That added a bit to the order. MSRP on that was $133.00 I paid $104.00 minus again my Ford retiree discount. So needless to say, I made out pretty good.
